Ok,this is my first Silverwing fanfic but hopefully it will be my best.Enjoy ze first chappie!

Salo,a black vampire bat with blood red eyes,flew through the night in search of a good kill.He,being a vampire bat,only ate meat.He was supposed to meet his friend,Kiana,a smokey gray bat with dark blue eyes,at the 500 year old oak tree by the lake when they both caught good kill to share.
Salo's eyes caught site of a good sized squirrel nibbling a walnut on the forest floor.He locked onto his target,dove in,and killed it with a swift bite to the neck.
"I'm surprised I caught one this big,"he said to himself,"normallyby now they're scrawny and tastless...,"It was the middle of winter so by now good prey was scarce.
Salo picked up his kill and took off toward the oak tree.He noticed how bare the trees looked.He scowled slightly when he saw the frozen lake.He hated ice.How were Kiana and he suppsed to get water if the lake was frozen?
Salo saw the tree below him and landed on a big,bare branch that jutted out over the lake.
"Kiana?!"He called,"You here yet?"
"Yeah,up here!"she replied.She was sitting neatly on an even bigger branch jutting out above the lake above Salo.
"Oh,I'm coming!"Salo flew up to her,and set his kill beside her's.
"Woah,good catch!"She admired.Salo noticed that her puny little pigeon was tiny compared to his squirrel.
"Thanks...,"he muttered.He was what some bats would call heartless,ungrateful or other names like that.
"Who got your wings in a bunch?"She asked through a mouthful of her puny little pigeon.
"It's just this cold.It makes me mad."
"Oh,"was her only reply.I wonder why I even asked that,he's always like this...,Kiana thought.
Once they finished off they're food the flew into the night sky.They were supposed to be finding a colony that would take them in,but they liked being loners.
"Hey look!"Kiana said,"It's a Silverwing and Brightwing!"
"Looks like we get dessert then,huh Kiana?"
"Guess so!"
Kiana and Salo glided lightly down towards the two little bats,getting ready for another meal...

Cliffhanger!Muwahahahahaha!I know I'm evil.So,will the two very familiar bats get eaten?Or will fate have another plan for them?
