Hola, everyone. 'Tis me, again. I decided to write a small side story to Vampire Fate. Using the song, "Imaginary" by Evanescence, Yugi feels fear when Yami first became a vampire, and tore off the skin on his face. What will happen as Yugi tries to escape into his own world? Read on, and find out.

All Yugi could think of was fear, when he saw the winged creature fly straight at him. A loud screeching filled his mind, drowning out his thoughts. Then, he felt a tearing pain on his face, the creature's wing slowly turning after an impact. He sank to the floor, trying to hide. He wanted to escape into his own world, from all the pain and suffering that he experienced.

I linger in the doorway,

Of alarm clock screaming, monsters calling my name.

Let me stay, where the wind will whisper to me.

Where the rain drops, as they're falling, tell a story. He wanted to hide, away from the monster that was now beginning to haunt him. The creature seemed to call his name, wanting to kill him, right then and there. Rain slowly began to pour from the sky, causing the creature to fly off, the crowd dispersing. Yugi was alone, holding himself and trying to hide his face.

In my field of paper flowers,

And candy clouds of lullaby,

I lie inside myself for hours.

And watch my purple sky fly over me. Fear flooding into him, wanting Yami to hold him, but he knew that the Pharaoh wouldn't come. Somehow, he knew that the creature was Yami, evil, craving human flesh and blood. Yugi wanted to die, wanted to experience death before his own eyes. He cradled himself in his arms, slowly rocking back and forth, tears flowing from his bright indigo eyes.

Don't say I'm out of touch,

With this rampant chaos, your reality.

I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge,

The nightmare I built my own world to escape. Little Yugi found himself surrounded by demons that only he could see. They stared at him with their flame orange eyes, pulling out knives and swords, poised to strike the boy. The only thing he could do was scream. The rain echoed his yelling, fear showing in his eyes.

"It seems that there's no one here to help you, Yugi," laughed the lead demon, his silver horns reflecting on the rain drops. "Without your friends, you're nothing." The demons joined in the laughter, letting Yugi continue to scream.

In my field of paper flowers,

I lie inside myself for hours.

And watch my purple sky fly over me.

Swallowed up in the sound of my screaming,

Cannot cease for the fear of silent nights.

Oh, how I long for the deep sleep dreaming,

The Goddess of imaginary light. The demons grew closer to the frightened boy, laughing evilly, holding up their weapons in the striking position. Tears flowed from his eyes, reflecting his fear, and screams of pain. His face dripped of blood, mixing with the rain and tears. He slowly stood up, facing the demons.

"Leave me be!" he screamed, a light appearing from the Puzzle. The demons grew frightened, slowly disappearing, except for the leader of the group.

"You may have won this time, boy," he hissed. "I assure you, we will return." He disappeared, leaving Yugi to drown in fear.

I lie inside myself for hours.

And watch my purple sky fly over me. He walked away, blood staining the floor, from the accident of that night. Rain continued to fall, washing the blood away. I lie inside myself for hours, Yugi thought, covering his face before running off towards the hospital. He knew that the creature would return, and so would the demons that taunted him, and nearly killed him.

Like it? Flames will be used to make homemade coffee. Yay!
