There's no way to be sure, but
He was always saving people, always being brave, and always doing the right thing. She thought it was about time that he thought of himself. And with Dumbledore gone, there was nobody let to protect him. Sure the Order could help, but it was nothing compared to the protection and wisdom Dumbledore could provide. So he should just follow his heart instead of his head and let her come. Let them be together like they were meant to be.
