She didn't know that by doing so, it would change her life forever, for better or worse. Takes place in Borderlands:The Pre-sequel and will continue until (and maybe beyond) Tales from the Borderlands.

1. Reflections on the Past

AN: Wow, it sure has been a long while. For those who followed me through the previous years, sorry for suddenly going absent. A lot has happened through the past year and I hope to not just randomly disappear from here and reappear. If it does happen again, I'm almost 99.9% sure I will reappear in the Summer. Anyway! I've completely revamped the old story into a different story so I hope old followers don't find that to their disliking. ANYWAY, this AN has gone on far too long. Enjoy the story :)

Chapter 1: Reflections on the Past

I never meant to get noticed by him.

Whether it was just shooting a couple of bandits or burning them alive, everything I've ever done down at Pandora was to simply stay alive.

For some reason, he didn't see it that way. Instead, he saw someone who was deliberately going out of their way to clean up the horrid world called Pandora. He saw me as what he wanted me to be. A person to bring order, a skilled assassin, or just a gun for hire. Whatever it was he wanted, I was that person to him.

I guess that was how I became involved.

I remember the message popping up on my Echo communicator. It was from some engineer from Hyperion.

A nobody.

He said something big was going to happen. He offered me a ride off of this god forsaken planet up to the space station Helios. The added promise of money and fortune was just an added benefit.

It was a simple plan. Take the job, fulfill it, and get enough money to get the hell off of Pandora. I never knew such a simple plan could go so horribly wrong. But then again, isn't that how the most interesting stories start off? There's always some unforeseen problem to unravel into a story of betrayal, loyalty, and sometimes, even love. If that is what you're looking for, I promise not to disappoint. This is, after all, the story of my employment into Handsome Jack's services.
