She was a smart and courageous woman. She was able to rout the enemy in battle and restore freedom to Israel.
She cared greatly for her people. She judged the people of Israel fairly and was one of God's great prophetesses.
She could do more than judge and prophesy. She could stir up the people. Her personality was magnetic, and the Israelites passionately fought for her with humility.
Her song praises the faithful warrior but gives glory to God who grants the victory.
She knew that women would be chosen by God as well as men to do great things.
Her name is Deborah, and she is a judge of Israel.
