Forevermore
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto
Sakura sighed as she looked out the window of her bedroom. Rain poured from the heaven's reflecting her inner self. Despair runs across her pane, slips away and comes again. She always found herself this way. This empty shell…empty because the life in her is missing. The one thing that kept her going…is gone.
She remembered the very night that her love ran. Ran away from the village, his life, his friends, from her. Sakura blamed herself for the reason he left. She felt that maybe she was crowding him to much on top of Orochimaru's power. Two birds with one stone. That's what it was. So vividly she remembered seeing him walk away from her. She felt his presence disappear. She smelt dishonesty in the air when he said "Arigato".
Did she try to forget about him? Yes but could she? No. Forever was he to haunt her. Her dreams were of him, in her consciousness she thought of him endlessly and her subconscious cried lightly with each passing day. Slowly but surely, sorrow was taking its toll on her.
She tried…oh did she try. She tried to keep him from her mind, her space, her soul. She began to get hallucinations and long to hear his voice…to feel him stand beside her. She missed seeing his face. Something deep down in Sakura told her that she wasn't going to succeed.
Having been the student of Tsunade she was constantly doing this or that. Or running an errand for Hokage-sama or teaching Ino what she's learned from the mistress herself. Tenten tried to help put salve on the three degree burn several times. Asking Sakura if she wanted to go out and do something so she could clear her head. Sakura always declined…she didn't deserve to be clear of him…she had failed as a Kunoichi in stopping him.
Sakura once again looked from the background…Naruto soon left her after Sasuke left. Both of them training. Both of them soaring in their abilities while she stayed in Konohagakure.
Every day she would train. She would train until she could feel the muscles rip, tear and stretch. She didn't sleep anymore, either Insomnia or exhaustion came. Even in her exasperated state she still thought of him…always…always…always.
When the year anniversary came since he left her, she cried. Cried so long and hard that she thought for sure she couldn't muster another tear. What she'd give to know that he was okay, to know that he was still alive to know that he was near her.
She didn't want anything to do with anybody. When friends would ask her to hang out she said no. She felt that if she did…her façade would break and people would know how weak she truly was. Seeing couples around her made her envious, so very envious. Jealous that they were able to hold their lover while hers was somewhere…she didn't even know. Probably with some girl form Otokagure. Forever shaking the thoughts from her head. He'll come back…
Who was she kidding! Sasuke never liked her to begin with! Why would he want to return to a nothing like her? It didn't make sense, not at all. She knew then…she knew that even if he did return…he could never love her. Never was she to be loved by him who maintained her undying love.
Sakura sighed again. Sasuke could return and then he couldn't. Waiting. That's all she could do for now, is wait…wait…wait. She'd wait until her dying day if needed…although something deep inside her tugged knowing that with the rate she's going…that's not very far. She looked down at the picture she held so dear. The picture of Naruto, Kakashi-sensei, herself and…Sasuke. Tear's rushed to her eyes burning them forevermore. She collapsed on the floor.
She was lost…lonely…and unloved. Waiting for her lover to return to her.
