This is based off of an imagineyourotp prompt, but it's very long. Basically, person A plans a special night, but it doesn't happen cause something keeps person B at work longer than expected.

Cleena, with a smidge of Bering and Wells if you pay close enough attention and can count.

Leena groaned as she closed the Farnsworth. It took her three hours to get in touch with Claudia, only to learn that the team would not be home for another few hours.

She looked down at herself. Her dress, Claudia's favorite, was slightly crumpled from wearing it all night around the B&B.

She had hoped to surprise Claudia when the redhead got home. She had planned on taking her out to a diner in Univille. She had wanted a special night.

It had been awhile since their last night together.

Between rampant artifacts, and intruding fellow agents, they never found the time to just be together.

She should have given up her plans when the ping had come in that morning. However, it was in a nearby town, and hadn't seemed so major, so she had refused to give in.

She glanced at the clock. It was already past her normal bedtime. She supposed she would try to stay up to greet them when they returned.

-oOo-

Claudia quietly bid good night to the other agents. Myka, HG, and Jinks nodded at her, while Pete merely murmured something. The four all moved towards their own rooms, grateful to finally be able to go to sleep.

By the time Claudia reached her own door, three others had already closed.

She slid into the room, and smiled at what she saw.

Leena.

Leena, passed out in their bed.

Leena, illuminated softly by the moonlight.

Leena, wearing her best dress.

Leena, snoring softly.

Claudia dropped her stuff on the desk chair, and pulled her jacket off, quickly followed by her sneakers and jeans.

She tiptoed to the bed, and crawled in next to Leena. She kissed the older woman's forehead. Her lips lingering longer than necessary.

When she pulled away, Leena's eyes were starting to flutter open.

"You're home," Leena slurred.

"Yes. Go back to sleep," she whispered.

"S'pposed to be a special night."

"Any night I get to spend in your arms is special."

Leena gave her a drowsy grin.

Claudia returned the grin, then pulled the blankets over both of them.

"Go back to sleep," she repeated as she wrapped her arms around Leena, pulling the woman into her.

"Love you," Leena murmured.

Claudia couldn't help but grin.

"Love you too," Claudia replied right before they both fell asleep.
