Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, a remarkable wizard who had mastered many a spell and many opponents, he was also a remarkable man. He was in his office getting ready for the first years. This would be his 23rd sorting house occasion since Headmaster Dippet, said he would be leaving.
There was a knock on the door.
"Please, come in!" Dumbledore bellowed.
The door swung open and in stepped Minerva McGonogall, she was a vision loveliness she 31 years of age, and he her long jet black hair was hanging just past her shoulders, it resembled her animaigus forms colour, a black cat.
"Yes Minerva, how can I help you?" Dumbledore asked.
"Albus, the students have arrived we will begin the sorting ceremony soon". Minerva replied.
Dumbledore replied "I will be there shortly Minerva, thank you for coming to get me"
Then there was an almighty CRACK!.
"YOU CAN'T CATCH ME, FILTCHY POOS"
It was Peeves the Poltergeist of the school.
"PEEVES, you ingrate get back her with that owl!", Minerva shouted after him.
Dumbledore let out a little chuckle to himself, Dumbledore turned and walked towards the door, grasped the handle and walked out of his office.
He approached the statue and whispered "Sherbet Lemon".
The statue moved and revealed a spiral staircase, Dumbledore moved gracefully onto the step and it started to move. He walked into the main hall and waited for the first years.
As the first years cascaded through the doors of Hogwarts School, Albus Dumbledore was looking at each of their faces, wondering who will be the next to shine above the rest.
Last year there had been a group of four students who were always up to mischief, that's putting it lightly. However, they were all marvellous in their own special ways.
Remus Lupin, was a troubled student. Who unknowing to any of the other Professors or Students is a werewolf. But his mastery of Charms was nothing but inspiring.
James Potter, now he was different he exuded charm but by god did he get into trouble, this one time, he and another friend of his Sirius I think?... That doesn't matter anyway, they sneaked into the girl's bathroom and flooded the whole place, I being the headmaster had to act, but I did have a good chuckle. He however excelled in transfiguration, the things that boy could do was magical.
Sirius Black, now he was like the twin of James, they were both trouble, however Sirius was from a pure blood family and in my opinion, even though I shouldn't think this but who cares, they were all useless and wouldn't be able to tell if a muggle walked passed them on Diagon Alley. Sirius was remarkable, the way he duelled was joyous.
Then there was Peter Pettigrew, now he was different, I know each of them were but he was strange, he never excelled in anything, apart from potion making, he followed the others around, like a puppy, and in my opinion if he were not friends with the others, well he would of left Hogwarts many years before them.
As Dumbledore gazed into the past, he realised that while he was thinking about past students, Voldemort was gaining an army.
