Happy Turkey Day! :D This is a little oneshot that I thought of. Enjoy your day, everyone, and eat plenty of pie! :)
DISCLAIMER: I don't own Alvin and the Chipmunks in any way, shape, or form.
Alvin glared at the blank paper in front of him. He wrote a few words, then balled up the paper in frustration. He got another paper and repeated this process several times. After a while, the red-clad chipmunk was surrounded by balled up papers.
"Ugh! This is hopeless!" He exclaimed, throwing up his arms and scattering all the paper. At that moment, Simon walked in the room.
"Alvin, what's wrong?"
"This essay is impossible! I can't believe Miss Stone gave us an assignment over Thanksgiving break!" Simon raised his eyebrow.
"Do you want me to help you, Alvin?"
"Ha, no thanks."
"There's nothing wrong with asking for help, Alvin."
Alvin sighed and rested his head in his hands. Simon's mouth turned in a knowing smirk. He knew Alvin wanted help, but was way too proud to admit it. Simon sat down on his bed and looked at Alvin. Alvin noticed his younger brother staring at him, and looked in his direction. They locked eyes for a long time. Eventually, Alvin looked away in unhappy defeat.
"Fine! I…do…need your help…" he said quietly. Simon smiled.
"Now was that so hard to admit?"
Alvin just looked away. Simon walked over and looked over Alvin's work. He looked thoughtful for a second, then pulled up a chair next to Alvin.
"Well, let's see…the history of Thanksgiving…well, I think the best place to start would be at the arrival of the Pilgrims. In 1620…"
For the next half hour, Alvin and Simon worked on Alvin's essay. After writing it, they went about their day until it was time for Thanksgiving dinner. They sat around the table, enjoying all the food Dave and Theodore had made. Grandma and Grandpa Seville had arrived, as well. They all said grace and talked to each other. After dinner, everyone sat in the living room, talking and laughing. Alvin walked over to Simon, who was reading. He sat down on the couch next to him.
"Hey Simon…" The bespectacled chipmunk looked up from his book.
"Oh, hi Alvin."
"…thank you."
Simon looked shocked. He gaped at Alvin, who looked away.
"W-what for?"
"For helping me…thanks, Simon."
Simon blinked, then smiled.
"You're welcome, Alvin. You know, you're a great brother."
"So are you. And you know what Simon?"
"What?"
"I'm thankful for you guys."
Simon smiled.
"Me too."
