Maiden's Kiss
"Ow! Ow-ow-ow-owww… that really hurt, you know…"
"Well you deserve it, don't you!? You horrible, selfish, disgusting frog!"
"Oh Cate- Princess! Must you hurt me with your words~?"
At that moment, the frog could feel something. Seeing his slimy green arms replaced by arms of a proper human build, he knew what was too good to be true. But it was a shame the princess could not look at him so directly, so he decided he would lay low on his spot on the floor till he got her to see him.
"What…?" Cater suddenly blinked. "But, I've been doing that to you for three days straight, and you haven't had a problem with it…"
"I don't have a problem with it~" He smirked to himself. "Not now or ever at all~"
"Huh. You're a very strange, strange frog, y'know that? Hmph, at least…you can go back to the pond tomorrow now that the deal's up."
"Oh, I don't have to go back to the pond~"
"Wh-why not?"
"Look down here."
Cater peered over the bed. Much to her shock, there was no longer a frog laying against the wall - but a tall and handsome prince instead!
"Ge-gero?" He smiled weakly.
The princess wasted no time in scurrying off the bed and crawling down to check on him.
"I didn't- I didn't hurt you badly, did I!?"
"N-no-!" The prince felt himself flushing as Cater's hand touched his shoulder. "Actually, my spine does hurt quite a bit… but it was your throwing me against the wall that broke the curse!" He suddenly lit up again.
"A curse!?" She was flabbergasted.
"Ran into some crazy wizard and he transformed me into that. The only way I could turn back into a human was if, well, I got hurt. Really badly. Ge-getting a full-body injury definitely fit the bill."
"But, I also called you a lot of mean things…"
"D'aww, you're forgiven! If anything, it would only fuel your anger so that you could throw me and hence, break the curse faster! It's not your fault," He gently patted her head. "Anyone'd be scared if they were met by a talking frog, gero~"
"I-I wasn't scared!" She said defensively. "You just wanted so much from me! And all in return for getting my gun back."
"Oh, Princess, if only you knew! I made that deal all because I was completely in love with you~!"
At that, she blushed a maddening red. He didn't even notice he made a rhyme. He simply smiled, dazed by the sight of the young princess who broke his curse.
"From the moment I saw you weeping, I knew I couldn't stand to see you like that. I knew you had to be mine, I knew you were the one," He spoke as if nothing would stop him. "You just amazed me. The way you put up with me was so cute, you know that? Your pouts, your disdain, your surprise every time I came back knocking~! Heh! And I thought you couldn't be any cuter! You're one-of-a-kind for a princess, you know that? You're just wonderful in your own way…
"And as a prince, I had another important factor to consider. With my next-in-line duties in mind, I had to- decide. And I think, I've decided…who I want my future queen to be…"
The whole time he was speaking, the prince didn't notice an eager Cater listening intently to him, staring in awe. By the time he realized it, he also realized his hand was holding hers on the floor right next to them. He turned away embarrassed.
"Erm! Gero… Thing is - do you want to be my queen, Pri- …Cater?"
Her kissing him was her answer. He readily kissed her back, not wanting to reveal that the other cure for his frog curse was also true love's kiss. But he just wanted to make sure this would seal the deal.
Well - a happily ever after for the two of us then! gero~!
