Artemis sighed for the umpteenth time that day and looked through her pile of work. It was as high as the length of her palm, she noticed, and let out a frustrated noise that sounded like a dying whale.

This school was psychotic.

Just when she thought she was free to enjoy her summer break, here comes in all of her teachers, during the last period of the last day of school, and dumps a truckload of work for all of them. All with evil, sadistic smiles on their faces.

Psychotic and cruel.

Artemis figured she could start working on the abominable stack of pure evil after school, since it was still early and there weren't any missions tonight. And doing her assignments with The Team around didn't actually scream conducive. At least it was peaceful in the Gotham Academy gardens. She could see a few other students silently hunched over their own, noticeable smaller, stack of papers on the scattered bench tables.

The blonde growled at her own pile of hell.

"Hey."

Artemis jumped slightly and the sudden voice and whipped her head to the left. Dick Grayson stood beside her table, a charming smirk adorning his face. How in the world did he do that? He's like Robin, for goodness sake! Maybe being an acrobat automatically made you act ninja-like and all.

"Where'd you come from?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Dick only moved across her back and sat down on the bench by her right, the mountain of papers right in front of him. His smirk grew into a full-out grin as he looked over the bundle.

That sadistic little-

"Do you need help?"

Artemis blinked, the insult lost in thought. She was expecting a taunt and certainly not a smiling Dick that was offering her help. She was about to reject it, slightly offended that her young friend asked her of that, but she realised, this was Richard 'Dick' Grayson; the resident boy genius and a mathlete. And here he was, offering what could be the biggest assistance in her life so far.

Math always was her lousiest subject.

She cracked a smile after her short inner debate, and grabbed a worksheet on top of the pile and pushed the rest off. She put it between her and the 13-year old boy, and grabbed for an extra pen from her bag. Artemis looked at him with a barely containable grin as she passed him the pen.

"Thanks, Dick. You are God-sent."
