A Matter of Linguistics
As Voldemort quickly drew his wand, Snape pushed a wandless Hermione behind him swiftly.
"Stay back!" he hissed, drawing his own wand to face off with the powerful despot.
"Expelliarmus!" Voldemort snarled, and Snape's wand flew out of his hand. The Dark Lord pointed his wand at the pair.
"I always suspected your treachery, Severus, and now you have proven without a doubt you are and always have been Dumbledore's man," Voldemort said softly, a smirk playing around his thin, scaly lips.
Hermione paled behind the wandless Snape, sure this would be the end of both of them.
"You and the girl will die a very special death from a curse that must be cast in the old tongue," Voldemort informed him. "I am sure you will not understand the ancient vernacular, but no matter. It will kill you both just the same."
Voldemort began to chant strange, unintelligible words, the tip of his wand aimed directly at Snape's heart as he wove the powerful magic. Hermione closed her eyes. Snape had revealed his true loyalties when he attempted to save her. Now, they would both die despite his bravery.
Suddenly, there was a loud bang, and a small, red hole appeared in the center of a startled Voldemort's forehead. He looked surprised before he fell forward to the ground, dead as dead could be.
Hermione peered around Snape at the fallen wizard and the Glock the DADA teacher held in his pale fingers. Snape looked at the dead tyrant coolly.
"No, my Lord, I didn't understand a word you said," he purred as Hermione walked around him and looked at the gun in shock. Snape's black eyes shifted towards her, glinting with dark mirth.
"But, luckily for us, Miss Granger, a bullet sounds the same in any language."
A/N: Just a little short scene that was in my head. Lol. I have to admit I lifted part of that line from Stewie of Family Guy. I was watching it last night and thought it was hilarious when he threatened someone who pissed him off. I immediately thought of Snape using it, but had to come up with a reason why. And I just did. Lol. I know it's short but at least I wrote something. Thanks for reading it. ***
