Even with her arms around Emily, she was scared. JJ crushed her lips against Emily's, for what she convinced herself would be the last time. The kiss was rough and they stumbled towards the door. Emily kicked it shut, and seconds later JJ's shirt was on the floor.

As JJ's hands worked their way up her back, Emily could barely remember why she tried so hard to stay away. But it never lasted; the tightening in her chest always came back.

They needed to talk. JJ was supposed to be sensible, she'd promised herself that nothing more could happen if they didn't talk first. She wasn't sure she could take more of this. Having Emily for only short moments while knowing what could have been was destroying her.

But with Emily breathing heavily against her lips, there was no way she could step back. Instead, she pulled the brunette even closer. When Emily moved her thigh between JJ's, she stopped thinking.

JJ wasn't sure how much time had passed when she was finally able to form coherent sentences again, but people were starting to come back to work.

When JJ looked into Emily's eyes, she was sure her heart would break.

"JJ," Emily said and took her hand.

She knew that voice, and what would come. There was no way Emily would ever trust her again. She had chosen Will over Emily, and she couldn't take it back.

"Please, don't go."
