The year 1191. Altair loomed over his target from above, in his white cloak and hood. His target, Robert De Sable, walked the streets of Jerusalem, bearing the crest of the Templars sworn enemies of the Assassins. The Assassins, an ancient group spread throughout the globe sworn to help or assassinate in the name of freedom.
Altair, the best assassin, hunted one of the leaders of the Templar Order. The Templars were in a hurry, sprinting to there destination. Altair leapt from building to building to keep up. They finally stopped when they saw a courier. Altair jumped out of sight and then got closer, blending in with the crowd, listening to the conversation.
"I received word from our spies that we have located it," said the courier.
Then Robert smiled very wickedly and said, "Good work".
"My lord, if I may ask, what is it we have found?" asked the courier.
Robert looked at him and said, "Our victory," and just walked away.
The courier ran in the other direction, right into the assassin. And, as if hitting a brick wall, fell to the ground. Altair picked up the courier, dragged him into an alley and threw him up against a wall.
The courier tried to fight back with an over-the-head punch, but blocked. Then Altair punched him in the gut once and the courier went down.
"Tell me everything you know of the thing you found," Altair ordered.
The courier spat at him.
Altair picked up the courier and punched him repeatedly, ordering him to talk. The courier responded, "Alright, alright, just stop hitting me. All I know is that our spies found something far north I do not know where."
The assassin extended his mechanical hidden blade from under his wrist, "Then I no longer have use for you," and stabbed the Templar courier through the collar bone and into his heart, killing the courier. Altair then moved with haste to the stables to return to Masyaf to tell his master Al-Mualim of this news.
As Altair was almost to Masyaf, he was stopped by Templar agents asking him questions because they were suspicious of him. When they did this, Altair stabbed the first, and tried for the second but the Templar blocked the attack. Then they both pulled their swords and made several blows that had no effect.
Finally, Altair made a fake thrust and then sliced the Templar's chest, having him bleed out. Altair, fleeing on his horse, could hear the commotion behind him. He was pleased.
Altair finally reached Masyaf after two days of going cross country. Altair, off his horse in the city, practically sprinted through the streets to tell Al-Mualim. On his way up to Masyaf Castle, home of the Assassins, Altair was delayed Abbas Sofian, his least favorite person.
Abbas teased him as he always did.
"I see no blood on your blade. Was your mission not to kill Robert?"
"If given the chance," Altair retorted. He pushed Abbas out of the way to Al-Mualim.
Altair went into the castle into Al-Mualim's study.
"I see Robert still lives." Al-Mualim said.
"Yes." Altair replied.
"So why did you stay in Jerusalem for so long?" asked Al-Mualim.
"I've gathered information," Altair replied.
"What information?" Al-Mualim wondered.
"The Templars have discovered a great treasure. The way Robert looked it seemed important." Altair explained.
Al-Mualim asked, "Where?"
"In the mountains," Altair replies.
Al-Mualim's face seemed very pleased with this information. He looked like he wanted to go to Jerusalem that second. Then he said, "We have seen some spies in these locations. Find them and get more information," as he passed a map of Acre.
Altair bowed and went off to find the spies and make them bleed.
