Best Friends For Life

"It hurts, Logie," Kendall whimpered as he buried his face in Logan's shoulder. He felt like he was in so much pain right now. His mom had just told him that his grandma, who he was closer to then anyone, might not make it through the night. Of course when Kendall heard this, he had run to his and Logan's shared room and started sobbing.

After an hour, Logan had come in to check on him and saw that Kendall was still crying. Logan had just taken Kendall into his arms and let the younger boy cry out all his pain and sadness.

"I know, little buddy," Logan whispered rubbing gentle circles on Kendall's shaking back.

"I don't want her to die," Kendall sobbed giant tears rolling down his cheeks. Logan frowned he didn't like seeing his little brother in so much pain. He wished that he could take it all away; he didn't like it when Kendall felt this way. He really didn't.

"I don't want her to die either, buddy, but you have to understand that if she does die, that she will always be with you," Logan said looking at Kendall's tear filled green eyes. Usually those eyes were so full of light and now… they looked so broken.

"She will? How?" Kendall asked wiping the tears from his eyes.

"She'll be in here," Logan whispered placing his hand gently over Kendall's heart.

"I love you, Logie," Kendall whispered. "Thanks for everything,"

Logan smiled down at his friend, that boy really was something special; he truly did have a heart of gold. And Logan wouldn't trade it for anything.

"You're welcome, Kenny, but you don't have to thank me. That's what best friends are for,"
