Zeus, the head of gods, was not happy. As soon as he heard Hermes say that he saw a herd of triceratops when he was flying back to Olympus was unhappy news.
You might think dinosaurs were extinct as soon as the Cretaceous Period was over the age of dinosaurs ended, the dinosaurs were extinct and the age of mammals began. But as the giants rose, souls no longer belonged to Hades, which meant dinosaurs rose from the dead and came back to roam the earth.
There was no use of making of making extinctions. Zeus asked the four gods of the four seasons. They were touchy about this subject. They were all in complete agreement (which was quite rare) not to make an extinction for the dinosaurs. So the decision was settled dinosaurs will roam free.
