The Coming Fall.
Chapter 1: Introductions Through Mayhem
Beast Boy was walking around Jump City as a dog. It was his time to be alone, because everyone else was busy. He was about to change into a bird and fly to the tower when he heard a small muffled cry. As he reached the scene, he was shocked to see a girl no older than 13 curled up in a ball inside of an old abandoned factory, vines spreading around the doorway. The girl had wild knee length black hair with green streaks and was wearing what looked to be a raggedy blanket held to her by a frayed rope. It sounded like she was crying. The vines seemed to keep her there, stopping him from reaching for her and her from escaping. Beast Boy looked around as he formulated a plan. Beast Boy morphed into a green kitten and walked carefully towards the girl.
Beast Boy walked towards the girl and watched in amazement as the vines stepped out of his path. When he reached the girl, he let out a soft mew. The girl jerked up, and he saw fear enter the forest green eyes as she saw him.
"Y-you need to g-get aw-way from m- me. I D-Don't want t- to hurt you." Her voice sounded like it was rarely used. She looked so lost and scared that Beast Boy curled up in her lap. She stopped crying and was now sniffling as she tenderly placed her hand on his fur and started to stroke him. Soon she was giggling at him as he swatted at one of the loose strings on her outfit. He stretched out as she fell asleep. Just as his eyes were shutting, he felt his com buzz. Even if it wasn't visible, it was still there. He quickly walked out the now vine-free doorway and morphed human.
"Hello?" he asked.
"Beast Boy! Where were you? You were gone all day!" Robin's voice shouted over the com.
"Chill dude! I was out wandering the city and lost track of time. I'm coming back now." He said.
He came back at the same time every day to check on her, sometimes leaving her with some food. It wasn't until the third day that he learned her name.
"We need to give you a name. My name's Autumn, yours will beā¦Pecus. It means animal." He snuggled closer to her before getting up to leave.
"Oh, yeah. I-I'll see you later." Sadness filled her voice. Beast Boy snuggled her hand once more before heading home.
It was a week after that day and he was about to head out again when the alarm rang.
"Titans Trouble at the bank! Looks like it's the HIVE triplets." Robin yelled over the sound. They all ran out, Raven and Starfire flying, Robin and Cyborg driving their vehicles, and Beast Boy turning into a pterodactyl and following the girls. As they reached the bank, they saw Jinx un all her pink haired glory, Gizmo with a weird controller in his hands, and Mammoth with a metal box in his hands.
"Titans, go!" Robin yelled. They all ran into the action. Starfire threw her energy blasts at Jinx as Jinx threw exploding rocks at her in retaliation. Cyborg and Robin attacked Mammoth with Cyborgs arm cannon and Robins bird-a-rangs. Raven flew after Jinx and used her powers to throw different items at her. Beast Boy was left with Gizmo.
"Alright snot rags! Let's see how you like this!" Gizmo pressed the button on his remote before Beast Boy could stop him. The ground rumbled as a giant robotic spider walked out the large hole in the bank wall. It used its leg and threw Cyborg off Mammoth. Their attention was shifted to fighting the spider, so they didn't see the three sneak off. Starfire and Raven used their powers to blow one of its legs off. Robin brought down another with his explosives, and Cyborg blew a hole in its body. The spider toppled over dead.
"Is it just me, or was that too easy?" Beast Boy said.
"It was a distraction. Where did they-"Robin was interrupted by three screams. They ran after the sounds. As they neared where they were coming from, Beast Boy grew panicked. As they reached the factory, they saw the doorway covered in vines. Inside, the terrible trio was all being held by thick green vines, while Autumn was panicking on the ground.
"I didn't- you- I'm sorry-!" As she caught sight of the titans, her eyes widened. "Stay back! Go away!"
As she backed into the wall, the vines tightened on the three.
"Get out of here snot rags! You're making her kill us!" Gizmo shouted before a vine covered his mouth. The titans backed up out the door.
"We need a plan." Robin said.
"I know what'll calm her down." Beast Boy said quietly.
"This is no time for one of your stupid plans." Raven said in her monotone voice. Beast Boy glared at her.
"This isn't a stupid plan! I know her. Just let me do this." He looked at Robin, who nodded after a moment. Beast Boy looked at Autumn before turning into the green cat she knew. Raven was about to yell about how stupid it was when Robin silenced her with his hand. Beast Boy walked through the plants. Autumn looked up at him when he mewed.
"Pecus! Y-you need to leave. I d-don't w-want to hurt you to." He continued walking to her until he was able to crawl into her lap and settle down.
"You stupid green-"Jinx started before her mouth was covered. Soon, Autumn started to pet him, calming down. The three in the vines were thrown out. The vines were still moving about, so the other Titans couldn't get to Beast Boy. After a few minutes, her hand had stopped, and Beast Boy saw she was asleep. The vines had settled down, but the Titans entered cautiously. Beast Boy crawled off her and transformed.
"That first time you called and yelled at me for being gone all day, I found her. I've visited her every day I could." Beast Boy whispered.
"Let's take her back to the tower for a checkup." Cyborg suggested. They flew back with Autumn with them.
