One day to go
Kate's POV
It had been a year since Ziva was hurt and a lots happened. So where to begin, well Ari proposed to me, I said yes, Ziva and Tony had gotten together much to my annoyance, and Ari and Ziva have joined the team as Mossad liaisons. I guess I will have to tell you what day it is today and why it is the best day of my life. It's May the 25th, 2005 the day of my wedding. I'm so happy I could die.
The day started off with Ziva and Abby shaking me awake with big smiles on their faces. It took me all of a minute to jump out of bed at 7am freaking out. As Abby pushed me in the direction of the bathroom Ziva went to the kitchen to start breakfast. After a shower, I sat down and ate my pancakes thinking about today.
It was 8 am when Abby dragged me back it to my bedroom for makeup, Abby was doing my makeup while Ziva was getting the dresses out of the bags. The bridesmaid dresses are red, with Ziva's maid of honour dress having a white band around the middle and Abby's having black.
My dress is a silky satin material, as white as the winter snow, and the hem was lined with red roses. The dress itself perfectly hugged my figure and flowed elegantly down past my waist. I know that Ari will like it. After the makeup was on it took all three of us to get the dress on me.
After about three hours all three of us where ready to go to the church. I was sat down fiddling with my dress when Ziva said "how long is the limo going to be? it is already 11 am and we are supposed to be at the church for 12, we will be late." Ziva was always inpatient. Abby looked like she was about to fall asleep. About five minutes later there was a knock on the door. Ziva opened the door, Gibbs was standing there with a rare smile on his face.
Gibbs is walking me down the aisle as my own father and mother are dead and I have no brothers or sisters. After Gibbs gave Ziva a hug he walked in to the living room where he was attacked by an exited Abby "Gibbs can you believe Kate is getting marred today" she scrramed. Gibbs seemed to be stunned before laughing and hugging Abby back. As we were walking to the limo Gibbs pulled me aside.
"I am proud of you Kate." With that he walked off leaving me standing on the pavement with a smile on my face, my father is proud of me.
On the way to the church my nerves were starting to come back but I knew I had nothing to worry about, Ari loves me, he wouldn't hurt me. If he did Ziva and Gibbs would probably kill him, anyway we all know he is scared of Gibbs and maybe Ziva too.
When we arrived at the church i could see Tony and McGee waiting outside for us. Tony was Ari best man, both men were dressed in black suits. Tony has a red tie, and McGee has a black one to match the girls. Getting out I straightened out my dress and walked to the boys. Tony took Ziva's arm and McGee took Abby's. I breathed in slowly as they start to walk in to the church.
Gibbs took my arm and we began to walk up the steps. I didn't have a veil on so as I entered the church I locked eye with his.
Ari POV.
I was nervous I will admit, but her eyes locked on to mine I knew it was all going to be fine. As she walked towards me my heart was beating faster and faster. Ziva, Tony, Abby and McGee where already standing in their places so all eye where on Kate and Gibbs.
It was a small ceremony with only some friends from outside and inside work. Mine and Ziva's father did not bother showing up but I did not think he would anyway. As Kate and Gibbs reach me I took Kate's arm. We both walked up to the podium and Gibbs sat down. The ceremony was over in about half an hour. I could not be happier.
After photos were taken we got back into the limo that will take us to the reception. As we drove along I turned to look at Kate, she was was staring out the window. Taking her hand I said "what is wrong hun" she turned to look at me with the biggest smile on her face. "Nothings wrong ,I just can't believe that it finally happened, that I got my happy ever after." I smiled and replied"I know exactly what you mean." It's true, I do know it, but it feels like a dream.
When we arrived at the reception we could see we were the last ones to arrive. The the team had beaten us. Tony and Ziva had their arms around each other which was no surprise, I'm happy for them, Ziva is always smiling around him so I know she is going to be ok with him. McGee and Abby are talking, both looking and pointing at Tony and Ziva. Gibbs was with the new director, a redhead called Jenny Shepherd, Ziva told us they use to be lovers,so it was funny at first Gibbs refusing to tack her orders.
It was a small reception with only one table for eight. After dinner was served we did toasts. Gibbs started off as he was the father of the bride. "I must say I didn't like Ari at first but now I am proud of Kate's decision" It was short but that meant a lot to me. Next was Ziva, this should be good. "I have known Kate for years but never did I expect her to fall in love with Ari, I thought she was too smart for that but after I saw how much she loves him, god knows how she can, I know she's found the one."
Typical of Ziva to make fun of me at a time like this but her speech was sweet if you get past the insults. Next was Tony, but something tells me the toast will not be all about me and Kate. "Today we are celebrating Katie'sand Ari's special day and I'm happy for them but I think it will be the perfect moment if I do this now." Standing up he walked around to pull Ziva up as well.Getting down on one knee he pulled out a very expensive looking ring and said "Ziva will you marry me" . Ziva was speechless, we sat excitedly waited for an answer.
"Yes." It was barely a whisper but we all heard it. Tony got up and put the ring on her finger as we all clapped. I was happy for my sister. After they had both sat down we all started to talk about different thing. I glanced out of the window, a movment caught my eye, I shouted but it was too late, it had already hit its mark in her chest...
