The Sneeze

Disclaimer:  I do not own Cowboy Bebop.  If I did own Cowboy Bebop, it would be awesome, but I don't.

Warnings:  None.  Very short.

Vicious, Lin, and several other Red Dragon Syndicate members were on a shuttle on its way to Callisto.   Vicious was bored out of his mind, but on the outside he looked perfectly calm and collected.  Everyone else in the shuttle was keeping completely silent, perhaps because they were afraid they'd anger him.

Suddenly, shattering the silence, Lin sneezed.  He'd tried to stifle it, but it had been unsuccessful.  Everyone in the room was staring at him, unsure of what they should do.

Vicious, completely out of habit, started to say "bless you," but stopped himself in time.

What did he need to say "bless you" for?   He was one of the highest-ranking syndicate officials after all.  Not to mention he had a reputation for living up to his name.

"Would someone named Vicious say 'bless you'?"  He thought.  "I don't think so."

But now Lin and a couple other people were looking at him like they were expecting something from him.  He stared right back and their gazes dropped.

Vicious started to reconsider.  Maybe he should show a little more compassion for his fellow syndicate members?  Or should he maintain his reputation of the all-around "bad guy" who killed his own mentor?  Wouldn't someone like that just ignore the well-being of others?

But it was too late to say it now.  Lin had sneezed almost three minutes ago and saying "bless you" now would be a little awkward.

Or did he look more awkward by not saying anything?  He noticed a couple people looking at him out of the corner of their eye.

But he was Vicious, why should he be worried about looking awkward?  If they laughed he could have any and all of them killed.

Vicious shook his head.  This was stupid.  He wouldn't say anything at all.  He closed his eyes to catch some sleep....but there would be no sleep for Vicious.

"ACHOO!"

"I seem to be allergic to your bird," Lin said cheerfully.

Vicious felt his eye twitch.

It was going to be a long trip indeed.

Well, that was short and pointless, but hopefully you laughed.  Or chuckled.  Or maybe you were laughing on the inside. Leave me a review please!
