Remembering Eddie Guerrero

November 13, 2005 was a date that was forever etched in my mind. On that date, the entire wresting world lost one of its greatest performers in "Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero. I couldn't even fathom what I was feeling upon hearing of his passing. That notwithstanding, I'd much rather remember the happier times.

Eddie Guerrero was undoubtedly one my favorite wrestlers in the WWE. In watching the testimonials of many of those who knew him personally, Eddie was a great performer and an even greater human being.

I'm not afraid to let you start in my life again

Eddie was always a joy to watch in the ring, always pulling off some clever way to "Lie, Cheat, and Steal." He had many great matches with the like Rey Mysterio, Chris Benoit, JBL and the list goes on. In real life, Eddie I think was an inspiration to many of the present and future stars.

Eddie had a natural charisma about him that couldn't be matched. Every time he came in a low rider, I kept wishing I could ride with him. Through it all, Eddie loved to perform in front of millions of fans.

A lot of smarks thought Eddie was "too small" to win the big one. But Eddie proved them wrong when he beat Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship. I was especially excited and happy for "Latino Heat." After everything Eddie had been through in his life, he had come full circle.

Eddie went on to WRESTLEMANIA XX to beat Kurt Angle and later join Chris Benoit in celebration, both as World Champions. It was a moment that would be forever remembered by many fans, myself included.

As I said before, Eddie Guerrero was a great performer and an even greater human being. John Cena called him a great man. Shawn Michaels spoke of Eddie's faith in the Lord. Batista had said that Eddie loved his family. Chris Benoit admitted that Eddie made a great impression on his own life and he'll never forget him.

I for one will always remember Eddie Guerrero as a true legend in the wrestling world and one of the greatest human beings ever. He lied, he cheated and he stole everyone's hearts, even mine. Eddie Guerrero was a true champion in life and will never be forgotten. Long live "Latino Heat!"
