Roxanne and Fred II were standing under the careful gaze of their mother, Angelina. Their father was at the joke shop thankfully, but their mother was a force to be reckoned with if provoked.
And after this conversation, she would definitely be provoked.
"It's not as bad as it seems," Fred said, clasping his hands together in an innocent fashion.
"If you think about it, this might have actually been a good thing. If we hadn't have done what we did, Grandma Molly might have stayed in her room all day," Roxanne added.
"Right!" Fred exclaimed. "Grandma Molly was in a dreadful funk all day. Doing what we did actually helped!"
Folding her arms, Angelina narrowed her eyes more at her children more, which didn't bode well with either of them.
"What did you do?" she asked in a calm tone. Yes, calm was good for the siblings.
"Er…" Roxanne and Fred looked at each other before pointing a finger at one another and looking at their mom.
"It was him," she said.
"It was her," he said at the same time that she did.
"What. Did. You. Do?" Angelina repeated.
"Mum it's really not that–" Fred started to say, but was interrupted by Roxanne.
"Fred tinkered with one of the things on Grandpa's shelf, and it exploded in the main room," Roxanne explained, shuffling her feet. "The explosion woke up one of tricks Dad had laying around and…"
"I wouldn't have been near Grandpa's things if you hadn't have dared me," Fred interjected, causing the siblings to argue loudly.
Angelina took a deep breath. "Roxanne and Fred Weasley!" she exclaimed. "Both of you are going back to the Burrow and fixing whatever damage you caused."
"But Mum!" the siblings protested.
"But nothing," Angelina remarked. "You're both grounded as well and will be helping Molly prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the next month."
Roxanne covered her mouth while Fred squeaked with a horrified expression on his face.
"I'm sure it really doesn't look that bad," Fred said lamely, hoping that it would work in his favor.
The look Angelina was giving him and his sister told him the opposite.
