New Experiences

Maybe he's losing a part of himself, or maybe he's getting softer. Either way, this FBI thing is new to Neal. He's on the other side of the line now, the good side, the white side. The least he can say is that it's a strange experience, but an experience he's starting to enjoy. Something deep down tells him that he's not allowed to enjoy this job, but there's a thin line between innocent fun and overexcitement. He walks that line and there's always someone to guide him back to it when he reaches the boundaries. Mozzie reminds him to detest his limits, hate them, but for some reason he can't get himself to truly hate them. It feels like a fresh start and a trampoline to new opportunities. He wants the experience to be real, unlike his forged degrees. That's not the only reason why he doesn't hate what he's doing with his life now. Some of his colleagues may detest him for being an ex-con, but not the people close to him. Not Peter and El. Not Jones. Not Diana. Not June. Not even Satchmo. Hell, not even Hughes or Bancroft. Mozzie and Alex are always there as well, even if they try to steer him away from the suits. All of these people consider him the way he considers them, family.
