Hi all, EnKaye here. This is my first time doing an original story. Stay tuned for chapter 1!
The stars skittered about the night sky like pond skaters on the spring, countless dots of light across an infinite ebony canvas, and the fireflies were trying their best to imitate them. Crickets were chirping, frogs were croaking. The night creatures were up and about on a chilly winter night, living life one day at a time. They all had their own worlds here, under the bridge. No one ever sat on that bench to disturb them. Well, except Him.
Suddenly, a flash of blue broke the monotony. A tall figure appeared, dressed in an unbuttoned baby blue dress shirt over a matching argyle hooded sweater and snow white pants.
Right on time.
The boy sat on the old metal bench like he did every night, and gazed up at the rusting bridge. 'Probably made from the same pile of steel as this bench' he thought to himself, repeatedly tossing a little silver ball up and back down into his left hand. The bench was creaking under his little weight, which means the bridge was no different. He shuffled his feet around, feeling the grass through his white steel pointed boots.
'Everything will die and disintegrate at some point. This bench, that bridge, even these plants and animals. It's a shame they all had to end so soon.'
"All things have an end, living or not." He said out loud, "What opens must now close. Everything ends, even this very world. I can sense it coming, the end of the world." The ball stopped in mid-air. It began to open up like a puzzle, and two wings unfolded from within.
"I am coming. I am the End of the World." His royal blue hair lit up as the ball began expanding with blue light. The animals could feel their life energy being sucked in. This really was the end of their world.
A flash of blue light.
"Are you scared?"
