Hello all! I know this is probably one of the more random entries on here, but I was listening to the song "Big Iron" by Marty Robbins, and watching Fellowship of the Ring at the same time, and I kept thinking about Aragorn as the 'ranger' in the song. This is the result of the insanity that is my mind. Please note that in the book, Bill Ferny is a bit of a slime ball, but not necessarily a traitor, and certainly not brave enough to ever take up a sword against Aragorn. I merely needed a bad guy, and he fit. Also, may not be the most accurate as far as the story goes, considering Aragorn never killed him, and certainly wouldn't have spread the word he was looking for four hobbits. Come to think of it, he was only looking for Frodo, and couldn't have known there were four. Also, in this time Anduril is still in shards, but I figured it sounded better for him to hold the Flame of the West rather than just some random blade... so... yeah. All well, it's too late now. I know a lot of my lyrics and rhymes are corny, but in my defense, it's late and I am exhausted. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: If I owned Lord of the Rings or Big Iron, they would never have become this famous. Ever.

Anduril on His Hip

To the little town of Bree rode a stranger one fine day.

Hardly spoke to folks around him, didn't have too much to say.

No one dared to ask his business, no one dared to make a slip.

The stranger there among them had Anduril on his hip. (Anduril on his hip)

It was early in the morning when he rode into the town.

He came riding from the North side, slowly looking all around.

He's a Dunadan loose in our town came the whisper from each lip.

And he's here to do some business with Anduril on his hip. (Anduril on his hip)

In this town there lived an outlaw by the name of Bill Ferny.

He had long been oppressing the little town of Bree.

He was slimy, cold and cunning, and he worked with the Nazgul.

He wished to save his own skin, and turn a profit too. (turn a profit too)

Now the stranger started talking, made it plain to folks around.

Was a ranger from Arnor, wouldn't be too long in town.

He came here to meet four hobbits in the little town of Bree.

And in the process kill that nasty traitor Bill Ferny. (traitor Bill Ferny)

It wasn't long before the tale was regaled to Bill Ferny.

But the outlaw had before this day gone a killing spree.

He claimed to have no fear of this ranger fierce and bold.

He swore to slay the man and turn his head in for gold. (head in for gold)

The morning passed so quickly, it was time for them to meet.

It was twenty past eleven when they walked out in the street.

Folks were watching from the windows, everybody held their breath.

They knew this handsome ranger was about to meet his death. (about to meet his death)

There was but a pace between them when they stopped to make their play.

And the swiftness of the ranger is still talked about today.

Bill Ferny had not bared blade before Anduril pierced his heart,

And the ranger slayed the traitor with a swift and deadly art. (swift and deadly art)

It was over in a moment and the folks had gathered round.

There before them lay the body of the outlaw on the ground.

Oh he might have went on living, but he made one fatal slip.

When he tried to match the ranger with Anduril on his hip. (Anduril on his hip)

Anduril, Anduril, when he tried to match the ranger with Anduril on his hip. Anduril on his hip.

Thanks for reading everyone! Sorry if this isn't exactly accurate, but it was written purely in fun. I hope you enjoyed!
