Seasons

Disclaimer: I don't own RWBY, it belongs to RoosterTeeth and Monty Oum. I'm just borrowing them (although I would like to keep Velvet... please?... No?... Ok then).

'Seasons. '

Pyrrha was thinking about her friends in Team RWBY as she watched them on the other side of the cafeteria. She had been trying to work out what they reminded her of, and it had just occurred to her: they were like the four seasons.

Ruby was spring. Full of energy and life, she bounced around and made people smile, but she always made sure to do her job as team leader and as a friend.

Yang was summer. Hot-headed (both figuratively and literally) at times, she was also lazy and fun-loving, always making light of a situation and in doing so, made the situation more bearable for others.

Blake was autumn. Cool and calm, she keeps to herself a lot of the time, but works well with the rest of her team. She can also be surprisingly mischievous, with some encouragement from her friends.

Weiss was winter. From the casual observer, she seems cold and uninviting, but there was a bit of fun to be had, although one might have to brace themselves to find it. And there is always underneath a warmth, like a cozy fire, that only a few get to see.

To most observers, Team RWBY might have looked like organised chaos as they noisily went about their meal, but Pyrrha had grown fairly close to the other team and could notice the minor things that showed them to be the close-knit team she knew.

There was Blake's lopsided smirk that appeared when Yang made a pun, barely noticable unless you were looking for it. Yang's loud complaining about having to do homework, followed by Weiss's mini-lecture on how they had to work on their grades. Ruby talking animatedly at Blake about her current book, with the quiet girl not even needing to answer. And Weiss rolling her eyes at Ruby's request to copy some of her notes from the days lessons, and the customary response of calling Ruby a dork that that lost it's sting, and gained a small smile.

Pyrrha was so engrossed that she almost didn't notice Jaune sitting down next to her. She turned to look at him just in time to register his question.

"What're you thinking about?"

"Oh, just the seasons." She gave a small laugh at her leader's slightly confused look and continued, "I'll explain later."

She looked back just in time to see Team RWBY leaving the cafeteria, still being fairly noisy. Yep, they were the seasons, all different in their own way, and yet they all needed each other and were inexplicably bonded. And together, would be stronger than any of them could ever be on their own.

A/N: So, thats my first fanfic. I thought my first was going to be a Blake Weiss friendship fic, but this idea wouldn't leave me alone. It came to me (in its basic form) before I even considered writing fanfiction, after I had just finished watching RWBY. I had been reading The Human Heart and its sequel Trials and Truths by momoxtoshiro (go read them, they're good), and there was a line at the end that stuck with me, and became this.

The biggest problem I had was figuring out whose perspective to put this in, but I think Pyrrha worked fairly well.

Anyway, reviews please, comments, constructive criticism etc are all welcome and appreiciated.
