As Finn Hudson walked into the jewelry store in his hometown of Lima, Ohio, he came across a homeless man sitting by the door. "Sir, can ya' please gimme' a quarter so I can pay for some lunch?" asked the rough looking man. Finn stalled. He only had enough money in his wallet to pay for the necklace he was planning to buy for the love of his life, Rachel Berry. "I'm sorry sir," Finn recoiled. "I only have enough money on me to pay for my girlfriend a necklace for her birthday." Finn felt bad for the man, but it seemed to him like Rachel really wanted the necklace, considering she had been giving him hints daily through texts, Facebook, Twitter, you name it. "That's alright son, I have known what it's like ta' be in love," said the homeless man. "I'm glad you understand," said Finn. The man was starting to make Finn feel creeped out, but he didn't know what he was supposed to do about it. "Ya' wanna know what you oughta learn 'bout love?" asked the homeless man. Finn nodded. "All ya' needa know is never ever give up on it. It's the best feelin' in the world- to feel loved." said the man. Finn was touched by the man's guidance. "Thank you for the advice, sir. It was nice meeting you," said Finn. "What was your name again?" The man just smiled. "Don't worry 'bout it son. Just think of it as a gift from God." Finn smirked. He never really knew if he believed in anything. Rachel was Jewish, but he had never participated in anything religious with her. "Thanks again," Finn said and walked into the jewelry store.
The jewelry store smelled of booze and rubbing alcohol. "Maybe I'm in the wrong store," thought Finn. It didn't seem like the store that Rachel had described in her detailed essays written to him about the exact color, length and type of necklace she wanted. "She wants a necklace from HERE?" Finn contemplated. He walked to the counter with the cardboard sign that said "necklaces" and cleared his throat. There was a man sitting there facing the wall with his head stuck in a computer. He looked to be in his late 40's and looked like he hadn't shaved in a good 3 years. He turned around and look confused. "Are you here to buy jewelry?" he asked. His name said his name was Jonathan. "Yes sir, I'm looking for…" Finn paused and pulled a sticky-note out of his jacket pocket. " I'm looking for a sterling silver necklace with a 1.75 centimeter treble clef and a teeny-tiny diamond," he read. Jonathan looked at him like he was nuts, and then started laughing at him. "Hey look kid, we ain't got specific stuff like that here," said Jonathan.
"So much for getting a birthday present today.."
