Warning/Disclaimer: I do not own Fullmetal Alchemist! However, Dessa Lawrence belongs to me.
-This is a companion to Quicksilver, I haven't finished that story but this little one-shot has been nagging at me for quite a while so I thought I'd put it out there. Hope you enjoy!-
-Envy-
Homunculi as a rule didn't brood or dwell on things.
After all it was a human trait to worry, and to care, homunculi weren't restricted by these foolish notions.
I glared at Lust now, who was indeed brooding about the encounter she'd had.
"It was a girl; she came after the Fullmetal boy." She'd said when I'd asked her what happened to the pipsqueak. As if to annoy him more she hadn't bothered mentioning how the hell the girl even got away…
"Envy?" Lust's voice was hesitant and questioning, unlike he'd ever heard her before.
"What?" I growled.
"That girl, she told me something."
"And?" I rolled my eyes.
"She told me something about being human…"
"What does it matter?"
"Because she said I didn't need a philosopher's stone, she said that humans needed to grow their hearts-"
I interrupted her, laughing, "And you believed her? Please…that's crazy."
Lust scowled and drew herself up, "She did give me a warning, however."
I was still chortling, "Oh? And what was it?"
"She told me that a heart was an awfully heavy thing to carry."
And Envy could see that this statement had shaken Lust the most. He understood, because it shook him
too…down to his non-existent heart.
