Chapter 1 End of the line?
(Kaine Island, South Pacific, 1:15 AM)
On the island that held the goal of the infamous Sly Cooper, master assassin and thief, he moved with deathly silence on nearby rocks and took care of a few of the fortresses guards before walking up to the beginning of the path and joining him was his lover and second in command of his gang, Neyla, who was in her new gear, which consists of a pair of black, yoga-like shorts that reached her knees, open toe, slip on foot sleeves that go from the middle of her foot to her knees, a gold belt around her waist, a black tank top shirt, a pair of slip on sleeves for her forearms, black, finger-less gloves and her signature red and golden hood, Sly also gave her a new weapon, with a little tinkering from Bentley and Mario, she was given her own cane-blade (Think of the Spear of Leonidas from "Assassin's creed odyssey" but the tip of the spear is that of the Cooper cane) Sly then contacted Bentley
"Okay, Sly, the teams are in position and were all ready to help you and Neyla get up to that vault, for the rest of the operation, you two are "The ball" Bentley told Sly
"Roger that, Bentley, we're starting our approach, getting over these fortress walls shouldn't be a problem, let's run a check through the team and make sure they're in place" Sly replied
"I read you, artillery, you sure you can make that shot" Bentley asked artillery
"I endeavor not to miss" Artillery answered
"Roger, sniper, you got Sly and Neyla covered" Bentley asked the new sniper
"I won't let either of them out of my sight" The sniper answered
"Excellent, radio control" Bentley asked radio control
"In position" Radio control answered
"Utilities" Bentley asked
"Let's get this show on the road" Utilities answered
"Recovery team" Bentley asked
"I'm pumped" Recovery team answered
"Submersibles" Bentley asked
"Show time, baby" Submersibles answered
"Medical specialist" Bentley asked
"I'm ready if there is any trouble" Medical specialist answered
"Telekinetics" Bentley asked
"I stand ready" Telekinetics answered
"And I'm ready as well, love" Neyla told Sly
"Alright, it's the crime of the century and the ball is in motion" Bentley stated as Sly and Neyla made their way over the security wall, they eventually got to a situation that needed then to sneak along an edge but at the top were flashlight guards
"Radio control, move into position for a yank eighty-six, over" Bentley called through the earpieces
"I've got a visual" Radio control answered, Sly and Neyla then moved into position
"The ball has stopped rolling, we've got an obstruction" Bentley called as an RC-chopper came above the guards
"I'm on it" Radio control replied as the RC-chopper moved in and yanked the first guard off the wall with a grapple hook
"First is away…second guy is cleared…third skyward, roll on ball, over" Radio control told Sly and Neyla as the three guards were yanked off by the grapple hook, Sly and Neyla then came to a huge gap and the only way across was with a little help from Telekinetics
"Telekinetics, prep for tipper" Bentley called
"As you wish" Telekinetics replied as the huge antenna pole on the other side of the gap started to fall after something knocked it over, making a perfect opportunity for Sly and Neyla to raccoon rail walk across it (In-case you're wondering, Sly taught Neyla his thieving moves over the past two months)
"Strong work, Telekinetics, the balls are continuing on, over" Bentley called as Sly and Neyla eventually came to a blocked tunnel entrance
"Ball requesting door, via Artillery, over" Neyla called
"Launching, stand clear ball" Artillery called as a rocket was shot at a huge, hanging cage from above the two and they dodged back before the structure dropped and busted through the obstruction of the entrance
"Nice shooting Artillery, the ball is in motion again" Bentley stated as Sly and Neyla headed in
"Be advised, ball is nearing the lab, Submersibles, be ready" Bentley called
"Spear gun loaded" Submersibles answered before Sly and Neyla got to the lab
"Submersibles, deploy" Bentley called as Submersibles was in the water outside the window, which leads to a huge body of water and deactivated the twin laser grid, protecting the way forward
"Nice work" Bentley told Submersibles
"Anytime" Submersibles replied before Sly and Neyla hopped on top of an elevator, Dr. M and one of his flashlight guards then walked in
"How is your wife doing, Richards" Dr. M asked the guard
"Oh, she is doing very well, Dr. M, thank you for asking, very thoughtful" Richards answered
"And your son, what's his name, Mac" Dr. M asked
"Mark, sir, he's well to" Richard replied as the elevator started moving up
"It's a shame you won't be seeing him again" Dr. M stated
"Um…sir" Richards asked, turning to him
"Afraid, I poisoned your drink at lunch, I'm sorry, Richards, but I don't tolerate poor performance, you should have changed the security code from one, two, three AFTER you installed the new system" Dr. M told him
"I'll improve, I SWEAR" Richard replied
"No, you'll die…any second now" Dr. M stated, Richard then started chocking before he dropped dead on the floor, Dr. M then felt his phone ring in his pocket and answered it
"Yes…water leaking into the lab, I'm on my way down, oh and, get a janitor for the lab elevator, Richards gotten sloppy" Dr. M replied before the elevator started gong down, Sly and Neyla got off before it went down, they then spotted the vault across of a huge gravis and it was guarded by flying guards
"Sniper, you got your targets in sight" Sly contacted the Sniper, who was far away from the ball location, the Sniper then took aim and took the time needed to make every shot count, the Sniper then shot the first guard and killed him
"I think I hit that one in the heart" The Sniper stated before hitting the second, flying guard
"Oh, that one hit that guys jaw" The Sniper stated before taking out the third, flying guard
"Perfect head shot, get rolling ball, over" The Sniper replied before Sly and Neyla crossed the gravis on the long, power lines and got to the vault, which was trying to be broken into with these huge, cutting and drilling machines, Sly then powered down the security system with the code Dr. M slipped, the machines then retracted from the vault, Sly and Neyla then walked up to it and Sly felt the metal that made up the door
"Wow…the Assassins vault, my mom's heritage" Sly muttered
"It's an emotional moment, isn't it love" Neyla asked her lover
"Well…here goes something" Sly stated as he spotted the slot where his hidden blade was supposed to go, Sly then whipped out his cane-blade and turned it to the slender blade half and slipped it in before turning it to the right, the two stepped back as the door started to open before something blasted it back shut, causing the two to reel back a bit, they looked to see Dr. M floating in the air by a flying machine attached to his head
"A COOPER…no…no, you must be SLY COOPER, the new keeper of the hidden blade, oh, how I longed for this and who is the young lady with you" Dr. M asked. Sly then put his arm in front of Neyla in a protective-like way
"She's with me and this vault belongs to my family line, your trespassing" Sly told him
"No, my naïve boy, you and your tiger mistress are trespassing, I have the deed to this island, this fortress is mine, everything here IS MINE…which now includes the key to the vault, hand it over" Dr. M told Sly before he spotted Bentley on a nearby rooftop
"Sorry pal, family heirloom, go buy a knock-off at the gift shop" Sly replied before Bentley threw a bomb at Dr. M to knock him off balance
"GAAH" Dr. M shouted
"Quick, let's regroup with the others, follow me" Bentley told Sly and Neyla as they followed him as Dr. M regained control of his flying machine and started attacking the intruders, the three got to the shaft of the elevator
"JUMP FOR IT" Bentley shouted as the three jumped down the shaft before Sly used his rope launcher, Neyla used her whip and Bentley used his new, ROCKET POWERED WHEELCHAIR to slow their fall to the bottom, the laboratory started falling apart and the three got out of there fast, they then came out of the tunnel entrance
"We're almost home free" Bentley told them as he jet-boosted over to the other side of a gravis and bombed a pole that Sly and Neyla could use to cross
"The boats just up ahead" Bentley stated before a massive monster blocked the way
"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" Bentley yelled before the creature grabbed Bentley in its massive, right claw, Dr. M was controlling the creature as his head was plugged into it from under the chin of the beast
"There's no escape Cooper" Dr. M told him, Sly and Neyla then rushed to help Bentley but they didn't do much against the massive beast
"It's not working, SAVE YOURSELVES" Bentley shouted
"If he wants to eat, EAT THIS" Sly shouted as he threw his Cane-blade in boomerang mode at the beasts mouth and it was held open, the sudden impact forced the beast to let go of Bentley but it shook it off and threw the Cane-blade out of its mouth and into the vast distance, the best was then about to grab Neyla but Sly pushed her out of the way and grabbed him instead
"SLY, NO" Neyla yelled
"SLY…HOLD ON SLY, HOLD ON" Bentley shouted
(Sly's P.O.V)
"It was like they always say, your life really does flash before your eyes…there it all was…stretching back to my childhood, born into two family lines, one of master thieves and the other of master assassins, that have gone back for millennium, I was next in line to continue both lines, but…fate had different plans, I was robbed of my childhood when a ruthless gang attacked our home and murdered my parents, it wasn't all bad though, I was taken in by my uncle, Mario and raised in the assassins arts and it was on some of his pilgrimages that I ran into my two, best friends, Bentley, he's always been the thinker and Murray, he's always been the doer, with them and my uncle, we stuck together and our skill, our confidence and our reputation grew stronger with each heist, we thought that the good times would never end and our luck would never run out…which only made things harder when the odds finally caught up with us, after the whole Clock-rod incident, I decided to take a much needed break with my girl, Neyla, two months had passed since I saw my pales but, at least I spent those two months with Neyla, it was nice, until my old, mysterious ally, Azrael along with my uncle showed up and told me about something that belonged to me, the Assassin's vault, he came across a guy, named La Volpe, who used to run with my mother back in her hay day, she, him and my uncle pulled jobs all over the world and amassed quiet a collection of riches, Azrael told me that the Assassin's vault is where the assassins in my mom's family line have been keeping their mass wealth and vast knowledge for centuries and according to Azrael, only someone of my mom's line can open, using some well-placed clues provided by La Volpe, me and Neyla set out for the secret island that held the vault, on arriving, we encounter someone by the name of Dr. M, who already set up shop, from the looks of things, he had been trying to crack the thing for YEARS, growing steadily more agitated with each failure, he built himself a fortress around the vault, the security is tighter than Fort Knocks, getting inside the place would take precision, creativity but moreover, it would take an army of world-class thieves and assassins, finding and bringing together that much talent wouldn't be easy, but to get inside the vault and collect my inheritance…I was willing to pay the price"
