Luna Lovegood was sitting on a window seat in the Ravenclaw Common Room, staring outside at the rain pouring down. Rain could be beautiful, she thought. People who complained about it just haven't looked close enough to see the small miracles it brought to the Earth. Rain made the grass green and flowers burst into bloom. Crumple-Horned Snorkaks were supposed to love the rain, but Luna had yet to see one. She wasn't surprised, though, they were extremely rare.

"Whatcha staring at, Looney?"

Luna turned to see a sixth year boy whose name she could not remember with his arm around a brunette girl, also in sixth year. Luna thought her name was Emily.

"I'm watching the rain," Luna replied dreamily, turning back to the window.

"What, does the Blubbering Hingdonger like the rain?" The girl snickered.

"No, the Blibbering Humdinger doesn't like the rain," said Luna, turning back around to face them. "Crumple-Horned Snorkaks like the rain, though, I'm hoping to see one."

At this, the boy and the girl burst out laughing.

"It's alright if I don't, though, rain is beautiful," Luna continued. Still laughing, the pair left the common room.

Luna turned back to the window, watching the rain drip down the window. Some people just didn't understand. It was their loss.
