He had an aurora around him that simply screamed impulsive and it was obvious in the way he walked that he was doing his best to reel it in as opposed to bouncing around. He tugged on the leg of his pants and adjusted the position of something in his change apron. The owner of the store went over to him and whispered something in his ear. The young man looked briefly back at the tables he was waiting, talked to a woman with glasses and frizzy brown hair, before bolting out the front door with two other workers following him.
She laughed at the sight and shook her head. So those were the new guys…
She looked down at her half eaten pizza and rubbed her stomach, gesturing for the next available server to come over to her. It was a few minutes before the owner sprinted over.
"How can I help you?"
"Are you RJ?" She asked, already knowing the answer. The man nodded and she noted the strange colour choice of his purple shirt.
"That's me."
"I'm Tori."
The man blinked a few times. "That's nice…" He replied before recognition set in. "Oh! That Tori! Oh wow, I mean I'd introduce you and but-"
"They bolted, I know." She replied with a nod. "It's okay; I've seen it happen numerous times… Sensei sent me down to check on his investment."
RJ grinned. "Hey, a little rough around the edges, but who isn't when they start out?"
She thought back on the day she was late to class, only to find the academy in shambles and for the misfits of the academy to inherit the power and become ultimately, some of the best teachers the academy had ever seen. She nodded and looked down at her watch. "Well, I think they're off to a good start. Good luck." She pulled her wallet out of her back pocket and placed a two twenties down on the counter. "Give them a nice tip for me, will you?" She asked with a wink.
RJ nodded and in a sharp, flash of blue light the former ranger disappeared from view, leaving behind a very old couple who was walking in the door in time to feel the wind that followed ninja streak. RJ smiled before collecting the money and placing it in the back for the three rangers.
They already had one of their predecessors approval, so there was definite hope.
