Merry late Christmas Priestess Yuki-hime-sama! Hope you enjoy!
Had there not been a trainer eagerly awaiting a battle, Flannery would've stayed in the Pokè Center until the next day when Winnoa would've been able to fly her to Lavaridge. But like all the time, there was an eager trainer awaiting a battle right when she had to go for a meeting. And the trainer was apparently impatient to battle.
It probably wouldn't have been so bad if the whether was on her side - she had managed to find a way to get to Lavaridge from Lilycove with the only bodies of water she had to cross were small and deep enough for her to wade through - but just like all set-ups for the worst day ever, it was not. A downpour of rain just so happened to be the main focus.
"Well, it isn't like that trainer's going to going to wait," Flannery said, grumbling.
Oh how much she hated the rain. Fire-types were useless in those conditions, which meant she was also useless in those conditions. One couldn't expect the fire-type gym leader to not be the embodiment of her type.
Umbrella-less, Flannery headed out the door. It wasn't like she ever carried one around with her. Her town rarely got rain. And she rarely ran into it.
Hopefully though it would stop just as she was about to cross a body of water - she always relied on her fire types to prevent her from catching a cold.
Luck didn't seem to be on her side, but nevertheless, Flannery walked towards the end of Lilycove and towards the area where her "avoid water at all cost" route started.
"Wouldn't it be easier if you just ride across the water instead of avoiding it?"
Along with the appearance of Wallace, an umbrella appeared over her head, allowing her to feel a little less cold.
"I don't have a water type though!" Flannery said. Her hot nature accidentally made her yell, even if she only meant to state that fact. Though, it was rather obvious…
Instead of a response, Wallace just released his Milotic into the water, motioning for Flannery to ride on. "Free of charge."
She didn't feel the need to deny - the rain never seemed to show signs of stopping. And at least she had an umbrella to prevent her from getting sick, but…
"Is there anyway to warm myself up?"
"Riding faster might."
