Say it again (Mush one-shot)
I don't own Newsies in any way. Inspired by Say it again by Marie Digby.
"Ise love youse", Mush said.
I froze.
It was said right there in front of the newsies in Tibby's, including the Brooklyn boys.
I remember turning extremely red. I got lost in Mush's brown eyes.
We both moved in and his silky lips touched mine.
Tibby's broke out into cheers and catcalls.
"Hey Mush", I whispered.
"Yeah", he said stroking my hair.
"Say it again", I said.
He smiled and said, "Ise love youse".
I smiled back. I grabbed his suspenders and slammed my lips on his.
He deepened the kiss and led me out of Tibby's.
That night on the fire escape, Mush held me in arms and was speaking soft and sweet to me.
"Youse da only one dat blows me mind", he said.
I smiled and said, "Hey Mush. Say it again".
"Ise love youse", he whispered to me.
"Ise love youse too", I said looking into his deep brown eyes.
He leaned down and kissed me.
"Ise so in love wid youse", Mush said.
"Ditto", I said.
"Youse like da sun…widout da rain", Mush said.
"Huh?" I asked.
"Ise dunno, I read it somewhere", he said smiling.
"Say it again", I said.
"Ise love youse", he said.
"Me too", I said.
When Sarah and Jack got married, at the reception, I caught the bouquet. I was bursting on the inside.
Mush grabbed me around the waist.
"May Ise have a dance wid me future bride?" Mush asked.
"Ise dunno", I said.
Mush took my hand and kissed the small engagement ring on my finger.
"Say it again Mush", I told him.
"Ise love youse", he said.
When Mush and I got married, before he kissed me, I said, "Say it again Mush".
"Ise love youse", he said.
"Now youse can kiss yer bride", I said.
Mush picked me up in his arms and kissed me.
"Hey baby", Mush said.
"What?" I asked.
"Say it again", Mush said.
"Ise love youse Mush Meyers", I said.
"Ditto", he said.
"Say it again", I said.
"Ise love youse", he said.
