On arrival at the school I got my usual waves and honks from friends, and the usual sighs and mumbles from my bad parking. "Bella," Jess called from her car "Have you done the bio-chem' research?" I walked over shaking my head. "I had no idea what we had to research. We'll fail together." I grinned and it was returned. We then shared a hug and Jess broke away quickly and began fixing her hair.
"What are you doing Jess?" I whispered.
"Edward Cullen is staring at you again. Like he always is."
I had a lot to say to this boy, I noticed... or Jess noticed that his eyes were always glued to me. It made no sense at all. Every time I approached him and his friends they seemed to tape over his mouth like they were his little spies or something.
The truth is, since I arrived in forks, I've always had this little... crush on Edward. To me, nothing would compare to a quiet evening alone with him. Just the one, two. But it would never happen. I guess It's just a dream.
"Bella, why don't you play it like a game? Every time he stares at you, stare back. It'd just be innocent flirting. Nothing serious." Jess suggested. "Okay. Edward. C'mon let's play." I laughed darkly and Jess gave me a grin. I guess I'd rather pretend that I was actually flirting with him, than have to forget him. The bell sounded so me and Jess made our way to our first class, music studies. We took our seats and waited for the lesson to begin.
Mr Birdie assigned us with partners and gave us a genre of music to study and create a presentation on. "Miss Swan you shall be working with... Mr Cullen. Find a quite space to work; your genre is Rock 'n' Roll."
I was about the stand up and find a place to sit with my partner when I realised who it was. Edward Cullen. My jaw dropped and I helplessly looked over to Jess, who had been paired with Erick Yorkie. She winked at me and gave me double thumbs up.
I took a deep breath and made my way over to Edward's desk in the corner of the classroom. "Rock and Roll baby, don't you know anything about it?" He grinned as I took my seat. "You have a good singing voice right?"
"Err, I guess so." I stumbled. "Why do you want me to sing?"
"Well, I was thinking... for our presentation we could write our own Rock and Roll song, I could slap something up on guitar and you could sing. We'd surely get an A." He said, sounding pretty proud of his plan. I had to admit, he knew all the easy ways of getting A's.
"Okay, so Rock 'n' Roll. I need something to sing about." I sighed. "I don't think I can just start singing in here in front of everyone."
"That's fine, Mr Birdie!" He called. The teacher came over and granted us permission to use the small practise room.
"We're all alone. Find something to sing about." He encouraged. I had to admit, nothing did compare to a quiet afternoon alone with him. We spent plenty of time talking that next few weeks during the project and it turns out, my crush had gotten bigger, and bigger. It was unbearable to be excited for my time alone in the practise room with him.
"Bella," He began, sounding un-easy "Let's be more than this."
