Fiahflies (Mush Meyers One-shot)
I don't own Newsies in any way.
"Mush! Jack is gonna be really mad when wese gets back!" I yelled, but Mush just wouldn't listen.
We talked and laughed until we reached Central Park. We walked around the park hand-in-hand about 50 times before settling under a tree.
Around dusk, fireflies flew through the air.
I got up and started chasing them.
Mush just laughed and followed me.
Couples would smile and laugh when they saw us acting like children again. When you're a newsie, you don't have much time for fun, but as you get older, you sell faster, so you have more time for fun.
"Ise gonna catch youse Sky!" Mush yelled.
"Den run fastah!" I yelled sticking my tongue out at him.
"Don't stick out unless youse intend ta use it!" Mush yelled.
I put my tongue back in my mouth and said, "Dat's icky Mush!"
He caught me around the waist and we went tumbling to the ground.
We were next to a hill, so I used all my energy to push us and we rolled down the hill. We reached the bottom and we kept rolling until we stopped. We were laughing.
Mush rolled over to me.
I reached up and picked leaves out of Mush's curly dark brown hair.
He reached down and rubbed my cheek.
I leaned in towards his touch.
He ran his finger over my nose, cheekbones, and my lips.
I put my hand on the back of his neck and brought his lips down to meet mine.
"Ise love youse Sky", Mush said.
"Ise love youse too Mush", I told him, "Wese need ta git back. Jack will be mad".
Mush helped me up. "About dat…Jack helped me plan dis…so he isn' gonna be mad", Mush said.
"Ise gonna kill youse Meyers!" I yelled running after him.
"Youse know youse love me", Mush said.
"Yes, dat's why Ise have permission ta kill youse!" I said catching up with him.
We ran and laughed all the way back to the lodging house.
I caught him at the door. I jumped on his back and said, "Got youse".
"Yes youse did my scary liddle fiahfly", Mush said.
I planted a soft kiss on his neck and said, "Night Mushy".
"Night me liddle fiahfly", Mush said.
The last thing I remember before falling asleep is Mush kissing me softly on the lips.
"Ise love youse Sky", Mush whispered.
"Ise love youse too Mushy", I whispered back. I couldn't see him, but I knew he was smiling.
