Chapter 1: The Edge
They'd left me, abandoned me, but not before opening my eyes to a world incredibility.
"Damn you Edward." I clenched my fist struggling to hold back the tears. However, a muffled sob escaped, bringing an end to the struggle. "I love you. God, I love you."
A strong breeze whipped her hair across her tear stained cheeks blocking the view of the turbulent ocean waters below. A hand rose to roughly brush her hair aside, before scrubbing away her tears.
"I just... I can't- I just need to see you one more time..." I felt the strength of the breeze increase as I moved close to the edge.
For a split second I felt a twinge of apprehension, before I heard a whisper of Edward's voice. It sounded so distant but as I made the final step to the edge of the cliff his voice became clear.
'Bella...'
I closed my eyes savoring the voice as it whispered my name once more.
'Bella...'
I took the final step...
