Pewdiepie walks through the forest slowly, taking in the whole scenery. He inhales the scent of fresh air, and continues on his way. The river, trees and pathway unintentionally seemed familiar and he didn't know why, but he kept walking until he came upon a great grassland.
Sunlight projected the field and highlighted the grass in a way that made it sparkle a little. It was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. As Pewdiepie observed the area, he spotted a log at the top of the path placed next to a tree, and he slowly made his way up to it. Someone was sitting there, crouched over.
As he inched his way around the log, he instantly knew who it was; he had seen her many times before. "Ellie? What are you doing here?" He asked puzzled, peering at the red haired girl he played last year in a video game. She looked up at him with her crystal blue eyes. "Oh nothing, just watching the sunset," She responded, both her hands propping her chin up. She had a dull expression on her face, but looked sad nonetheless.
"You know, it was really fun playing your story Ellie, you were so brave. And don't even get me started on Joal, he was great to you. Wish that could've been me," Pewdiepie expressed as he looked to the ground. Ellie half smiled at him and went to stand by the tree. "You know, we made quite the team didn't we?" She bereaved. Her eyes watered and her mouth was quivering slightly.
"Ellie, is something wrong?" He began to stand up, when Ellie walked over to him with a tear running down her face. "He's dead, and I couldn't do anything about it!" She stood there in front of him, while tears flowed down her face. Eventually she wiped her dried tears away, and sat back down next to him. He didn't know what to do or say, so he just put his hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry Ellie, I had no idea, when did it happen?" She exhaled a shaky breath.
"Yesterday." Pewdiepie's eyes trailed off, trying to put himself in her shoes. "I was with the group, the people me and Joal found when we went back to town, and Joal went out with his brother to collect some supplies on the outskirts... He never came back." Ellie focused on the horizon that was quickly deteriorating.
She now had no pain or guilt in her eyes, they were empty of emotion. "I should've done something, I almost feel at fault here. You two were insufferable." Pewdiepie was starting to feel guilty himself, and he beat himself up inside for it. It hurt to see Ellie like this, and it hurt to know Joal was gone. "No, you couldn't have done anything, and neither could I. You did what you could and it was good while it lasted, but his luck had to run out eventually. And so will mine."
Pewdiepie knew that was true, but it was hard to accept. "Well is there anything I can do?" He asked, wanting to help at least a little. "Yeah, you could walk me home- if you're up to it," She suggested. "Sure, I'd like that," Pewdiepie smiled. They ventured through the woods in peace and silence. Ellie walked next to Pewds, and their arms brushed slightly every once and a while. It was comforting, Ellie felt safe with Pewds.
"Okay, were close," Ellie exclaimed, and ran ahead of Pewds to the gate of the neighborhood. Pewdiepie ran to catch up with her and boosted her over. From the other side, she opened the gate for him, and he walked through. Ellie led him to the house that she stayed in and stopped at her front door. "So, I guess this is goodbye," She said sadly. "Yeah, I guess it is," Pewdiepie shrugged.
"-Thanks," She said quickly, as if she had forgot. "Thanks for everything." She stood on her tippy-toes and pecked him on the cheek, and she smiled up at him. "Felix? Feeliiix?" Someone called from a distance. "You want breakfast?" Marzia shouted from the kitchen. Pewdiepie woke suddenly in his bed, and he looked around his room. It was all just a dream.
