This is my first fanfic. It's about Light and L when they were students at the university. I though this was a converstation they might have had. I don't own death note or any of it's amazing characters. Please only give constructive criticism and please review.
Story:
"Ratio-kun," L said quietly
"Ratio-kun," L said quietly
I turned to face him while wondering what was so important that he had to bug me while I was studying.
"Yes, Ryuga," I said using his alias.
"Do you want to go out for desert?" L asked.
I sat there shocked for a second but I soon became angry. L was interrupting my study time and anyways Kira doesn't have time to go out when he could be scheming. Plus, L would probably be judging me as his number-one suspect.
"Ratio-kun, you never answered my question," L said.
"Can't you see I'm busy studying?" I replied harshly.
"But…I'm hungry!" L whined. "And I can't study while I'm hungry! It reduces my deduction skills by 10."
"And you picked me to go with you because…?" I asked him.
"You're my only friend," L softly replied.
Even I felt sorry for him a little when he said that. Kira isn't that heartless.
"Fine, I'll go with you," I said. "But we can only be gone for 1 hour at the most."
"I knew you would say yes!" L exclaimed happily.
He knew I'd say yes? Him and his damn arrogance.
So we walked to the pastry shop as friends. This would probably be one of the last carefree moments I would have anyways.
As soon as we reached the pastry shop, L excitedly ran in the door and once inside he stared hungrily at al the cakes, donuts, and other pastries. He had no trouble picking out pastries that's for sure. By the time, I picked out a piece of cake; he had picked out 10 pastries.
L was digging in his jean pockets and searching for his wallet when he turned to me with a worried look on his face. I though it was unusual for him to look worried since L is normally lacks showing emotion.
"Raito-kun, could you loan me some money. I must have forgotten it at our dorm." L quickly asked.
"There's no way I'm lending you money," I replied.
"Please, Ratio-kun," L begged and when I saw his cute, pleading eyes, I couldn't resist.
"Fine, I'll pay this time," I said. But this better not happen again because I might not be n such a good mood next time."
"You're in a good mood?" L asked
"Never mind. Just enjoy your cake and sweets while you have them.
Sometimes L was so clueless that it made me so mad but his smile made up for it on the rare occasions he did smile. Wait… what am I thinking? I can't think of L like this since he's my enemy. I am Kira.
"Did you just say you are Kira, Ratio-kun?" L exclaimed.
"I think you must be hearing things," I replied.
"Yes, I suppose you are right, L said.
I sighed and lead L out the door despite his protests. I could feel his sugar-rush coming on and I really didn't want to have to deal with it right now.
"It's been an hour," I said
"No, it's only been 59 minutes," L retorted.
"Oh, just shut up, L." I retorted back.
"I thought I told you to call me Ryuga in order to protect my identity." L said.
'If you want me to protect your identity, then we should head back now!" I exclaimed. "I need to study and you are wasting my time."
"But…I though you wanted to come with me. I thought we were friends." L said.
"We are," I sighed. "I just want to do well on the exam tomorrow and standing here talking isn't helping very much.
" Exam?" L questioned.
That's L, clueless like always. But my friend nevertheless. Maybe if I wasn't Kira, things could've worked out between us. I'll never know and anyways I have a job to do as Kira. No sense on dwelling on what can never be.
