Dean took first shower; after the hunt's revelations and long near-silent hours driving with Robo-Sam, he deserved it. Emerging from the motel bathroom, he walked over to his bed and pulled back the covers. He got in, rearranging the blankets and pillow. Then he noticed Sam, propped in the other bed, staring at him.
Dean met his brother's flat, expressionless eyes. The eyes are the windows to...scratch that, at least they're not black. "What're you doin'?"
"Keeping watch. Growing up, I was safe, knowing you were watching over me."
I'm not. "Go and research Crowley while I get my Zzz's."
