Alex Rider was sitting on the couch in Sabina's house. He flickered through the T.V, not really finding any good shows to watch. At last, he turned off the t.v, and started to grab a book when Edward Pleasure entered the house, carrying a box.

"'Morning, Alex." He said.

"Good morning." Alex answered politely. To his surprise, Edward set the box in front of Alex, on a coffee table. Alex raised an eyebrow at him.

"Look inside." Edward instructed. Alex did, and he saw a little dark ginger kitten, it's bright green eyes looking frightfully up at him. "I thought a you would like a pet." Edward explained. "It's a she. If you don't want her-"

"No, I'll keep her." Alex interrupted him. Hesitantly, he took the kitten and set her in his lap. The kitten stared back at him. The kitten reminded him of a someone, someone who took care of him for a part of his life, someone who risked her life for his…"Jack." He said.

"Jack?" Edward echoed.

"I'll name her Jack. In honor of Jack." He said, and reached his hand to rub the kitten's little head. The kitten let out a small purr, and rubbed her head against his head. Her pelt color was the same shade as Jack's red hair. She filled Alex of memories of her. "Jack." Alex repeated.

And the cat purred harder, as if reacting to her new name.
