Amethyst`s Allergy Alert
It was late summer in Beach City, and Steven and the Crystal Gems were so hungry. Garnet wanted to go to a restaurant, and because there were so many fast food places nearby everyone was arguing about which place to go. Steven just wanted to go to Big Donut, but pretty much everyone else said no. Then Pearl came up with the idea to go to the new Japanese restaurant in the next town over. Everyone agreed.
It was not a quick trip - over 30 minutes away! - and Pearl was almost drooling on the floor of the RV because she was so hungry. When they reached the building, it looked kind of cheap. There was a blinking "OPEN" sign on the bottom window. But inside, the restaurant had an appealing look to it, and there were a lot of pictures of noodles on the wall. Amethyst smiled. She could smell saucy noodles in the air, and her belly made a loud grumble. Everyone laughed.
They were seated in a large booth, and while Pearl talked about her recent zoo trip, Amethyst would not stop talking about how hungry she was. Soon their waters came, and Amethyst chugged hers. "Slow down!" said Steven. "What's the hurry?"
"I`m just really hungry!" said Amethyst.
It took quite a while for their food to arrive. It seemed like an hour later when the waiter delivered a huge noodle dish to Amethyst. Everyone else had ordered rice and chicken. Amethyst gulped hers down quickly.
But immediately, Amethyst had a weird feeling in her throat and made a strange expression.
"Is everything okay?" asked Steven.
Amethyst answered, "Yes... I just have… this weird feeling in my throat."
Suddenly Amethyst couldn`t breathe. She put her hands on her neck and started twitching. Pearl screamed and searched her bag for an injection pen, but couldn`t find one. Then Amethyst fell out of the booth and onto the floor.
Pearl was so scared she was sweating, but was able to dial 911.
An ambulance arrived quickly, and they wheeled Amethyst on a stretcher to the ambulance and drove away.
The RV followed the ambulance to the hospital. Steven and Pearl were very nervous, but Garnet kept calm. About seven minutes later, they arrived at Beach City Hospital. Entering the glass doors of the giant building, they were greeted by a doctor who brought them to Room B7.
Amethyst lay down on a bed and was hooked up to an IV. Although she had small hives on her face and legs, she was breathing.
"OH, THANK GOD YOU'RE OKAY!" said Pearl. "I was so worried," she blushed.
Amethyst smiled and said, "Yeah I didn`t want me to die, either!"
They both laughed and hugged.
"I'm starving!" said Amethyst.
Everyone groaned.
