They're ruthless. You see one of them coming after you there's no chance of survival, even the strongest looking men and women have fallen to their skill. The way they throw their knives and shoot their arrows are so precise, the way they slash their swords and jolt their punches just scream deadly. It's obvious they are something to be scared of.

They're prideful, too, and they have a reason to be. They have learned from the time they walked into a school how to survive in this situation, and have practically perfected it. They have a reason to be prideful about such skill.

Lastly, they're angry, anger that stems from pure ambition. They know they have a chance of death, and most of them are scared, they don't show it, though. They're trained to only show the anger, the anger at the world for putting them in this situation, and the anger at everybody there with them for even thinking about winning. All of that put together makes the perfect career, ready to bring honor to their district…

But they're still human, and they are still children.

Do we forget that? That these children are the ones bringing down bloody murder in the arena? That these are children who have done these horrendous acts? That, if they win, like any other victor they'll have nightmares of each murder, of each life they cut down short? Being a career doesn't change anything but the chances of getting out. And they know that best.

And I know that best.
