"You're absolutely sure it's here, right?" Kay whispered into her headset.

"You know, Kay, you're gonna have to start trusting me if we're ever gonna make a good team." replied a voice on the other end of the line.

"I wouldn't be hanging upside down in an airshaft if I didn't trust you, Apollo." Kay retorted. She readjusted her grip on her harness and looked through a small vent into a C.E.O's cushy office. It almost reminded her of Edgeworth's office, just without the Steel Samurai memrobelia.

"Point taken." Apollo replied "The intel's solid, it should be in there."

"Alright," Kay pressed a button on her headset and switched to a new line. "Ema, You ready?"

"Of course." The detective replied in her pleased tone. "You have the security layout down?"

Kay smirked and began unscrewing the vent. "Little theif's never let me down before."

Kay placed the grate inside the shaft and slipped through the opening. It was a tight fit in some places, but she got through. She landed on the ground silently and scanned the office. She pulled a small jar of powder from her pouch and blew, spreading the fine dust over the area. Then, just like out of a movie, secrurity lasers lit up like a christmas tree.

Maneuvering through the lasers was based entirely of fluid movement, which is why she had asked Edgeworth to teach her to Tango. According to her father's notebooks, dancing was the best way to learn balance, steadyness, and being light on your feet. She remembered the look Edgey gave her when she first asked him to teach her, but he gave in eventually. The lessons weren't simple, to say the least, but soon she was keeping up with him as they danced in his office.

Kay imagined Edgeworth's hand in hers, and his other on her waist. She sweeped across the room, avoiding the lasers with every turn and bend. Soon, she was at the other end of the office, standing at the mahogany desk.

How much did this thing cost? She thought to herself as she knelt to look at the computer. She began typing quickly, retreaving the files that had been deleated, but not entirely removed from the memory. She pulled up what she needed, files on embeziling and fraud. She printed the files from the computer and slipped them into a blue folder.

"Procecutor Faraday!"

Kay shot upright so fast she banged her head against the wall behind her. She hunched over the desk and rubbed the spot where she connected with the wall. She looked up and saw a disgruntled Edgeworth looming over her.

"If you have time to sleep at your desk, then you should be preparing for the trial."

Kay sat up sraight and saw the case files and evidence that were strewn over the desk's surface. She let out a deep sigh and began reorginizing the papers. "Edgey, I'm more than ready. Plus, I don't have to be at the courthouse for another hour."

Edgeworth sighed and shook his head. "Kay, this isn't just some novice attorney. You're going up against someone that has been training under the one man that has ever beaten me."

"Apollo Justice, right?" Kay asked, placing the folders on her lap.

"Yes, you have to be ready."

"Don't worry," Kay said as she stood from the desk. She smirked and stole a glance at a blue folder sitting on her desk. "After all, I've got the truth on my side."
