My first Jelza in a while! It's only a drabble, and the idea may have been used before, but I wrote it in about ten minutes soooo I couldn't help it.

This drabble was inspired by the lines "It's strange, without you I can't even find something to want" from Snow Fairy, which is the first opening theme song from Fairy Tail. And that's just what the subtitles said.

Enjoy!

Jellal stared out into the starlit night, letting himself ponder as he always did and regretting that which he'd always regret. As the night pressed in around him, he felt so utterly and completely alone, even though his two female companions lay not ten feet below his perch in a tree.

Meredy was using Ultear's thigh as her pillow, as she had several nights before and probably would for several nights to come, and the older woman was leaning back against the tree trunk, her head drooping to the side. They were close enough that he could call out to them if he needed someone to talk to…but he could not—would not—wake them from their rare, peaceful slumber when it wasn't truly their company that he desired. They couldn't relieve the loneliness he felt.

Only one person could do that, and she'd been missing for five years and three months.

"Erza…" the blue-haired man murmured softly, the name making him feel both elated and yet downtrodden all at once.

Where are you? he wondered, watching a cloud drift across the crescent moon above. He asked where simply because she had to be out there somewhere.

Without Erza, there would be no meaning to his existence. There was just something about her that made him incapable of desiring anything for himself in her absence. He didn't have any selfish wishes that didn't include her return.

And so he would wait for Erza Scarlet and all of her comrades from Fairy Tail to come back from Tenrou Island, wherever it was now. And then he would realize that all he'd ever really wanted in the first place was the brave redheaded warrior-mage.

She just had that something.

Wow. My most drabble-ish drabble ever. Well, maybe not, but you get the idea.

It might not be very good, but how can you really make something fantastic when it's so short? So I really hope you like it anyway!
