This is a mini one shot of Reyna and Jason. Jason's POV.

It's been three weeks since the new girl - Reyna - arrived at Camp Jupiter, and she still didn't talk to anyone. Jason tried his best to be friendly and make her feel wanted, but she really only listened to the tours. Every morning, Jason would drag her off to another coffee shop to get her to open up. Still, she was quiet.

Jason was pondering on a new way to get her to open up when he heard crying from the Little Tiber. He snuck up behind a statue and stared around the corner. Reyna was sitting there, her head buried in her hands. Her shoulders shaking as she quietly sobbed. Jason made his way to her and sat down next to her. She jumped when she saw him approach and wiped her eyes, "What are you doing here?"

Jason pouted at her, "The Lares aren't gonna be happy when they see you up after curfew."

She wiped her cheeks again and nodded. "I - I know. I was just leaving."

Jason cocked up an eyebrow. "Are you okay?"

She glared at him, her expression hard as stone. "Fine. You better leave before you get in trouble. I just need some air."

Jason took in two things about this moment. 1) she was finally talking to him! 2) She wasn't happy with him. Jason felt guilty for making her feel worse but he didn't want Vitellius having a fit if he finds Reyna here.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Jason asked, a look of concern on his face.

She glared at him, "No." Reyna turned away sharply a second later.

Jason opened his mouth to reply but thought better of it. He drew his knees up to his chest and looked at the sparkling Tiber. Reyna studied him for a quick minute before just ignoring him.

They sat there the next few minutes in silence.

"You don't have to sit here," Reyna said.

"I want to!" Jason said cheerfully. That was a lie of course. Demigods! Jason seemed to hear Vitellius screech. Up after curfew! In the dark where monsters can eat you? When I used to be up after curfew… then he'd probably blubber some annoying childhood memory of staying up after curfew.

Reyna studied Jason, "You sure?"

Jason nodded, "Nothing like the sweet air of Camp Jupiter." Reyna turned away from him. Jason paled. "Did I say something wrong?"

"No," Reyna muttered. She closed her eyes and said, "My sister, Hylla, loved the outdoors. She… she…" She stopped talking. Jason studied her before spreading out his arms.

"Want a Hug?" he asked.

Reyna looked over, opening her eyes. She nodded, tears forming in the corners of her eyes. Jason wrapped his arms around her and she hugged him back.

"Everything's gonna be okay, Reyna."

Jason! Our cheesy protagonist. Review for Hugs!
