Walk a Little Straighter
Idea came from listening to the radio and it had Billy Currington's Walk a little Straighter on at the time. I really love that song because I've been around alcoholics before, unfortunately so I know what it's like. Luckily, my father isn't one. So I don't own Gravi, I really wish I did.
His gaze followed the older man's gait, only to see it stumble as his hand held him up. Where was his other father at? The one that he loved to call mama. Riku followed after the blond novelist that was in front of him, watching as he stumbled from what he almost guzzled down. "Daddy?"
The gold eyes turned to look at him quickly, almost dulled from the alcohol that was in his body. His gaze blurred, almost as if he was going to let his tears fall but it was just the alcohol.
Turning back, he felt his hand slip from the wall and tumble to the floor beneath his feet. All the alcohol that was in the can spilled out from it, making the novelist want to curse out. Picking himself up with a stumble once more, he turned back to look at the child that was his responsibility. "Go to bed."
"Daddy?" Riku's voice wavered, almost as if he was scared of what he was witnessing. Why did his new father act like this when his mama wasn't there? Reaching out to grab a hold of the man's pants leg, but he caught nothing but air. "Daddy."
"What the hell do you want brat?" Eiri's voice rose an octave as he turned a glare to the child that was of his tormenter. Turning around to face the child fully, he saw the tears well up in his eyes but the side that actually cared lost the battle. He didn't care.
"Walk a little straighter, please." Riku begged as he reached out and grasped the fabric of the man's pants. Hugging his leg, he let his tears fall into the material. It hurt to see the man that was raising him like this. He wanted him to be like a normal father that tried to hide the fact that he was like this in front of him. Like his old father did.
Done! So how was it? It's been a long time since I actually typed up a Gravi fanfiction of some kind. Please review.
