I watched as the flock battled feircly against the army of flyboys, then turned to the one I was fighting, and quickly finished him off.

"MAX WATCH OUT!!" I heard Fang yell.

I turned.

Straight into a hairy fist.

I spiraled down, unable to open my wings and fly.

One hit was all it took to bring down the great and powerful Maximum Ride.

I blacked out right before I hit the ground.

I woke up to grass inmy face, and giggling, running feet.

I sat up looked around.

The sky was black, but I could see everything perfectly.

The flock was running around, playng tag.

Fang was seated next to me.

"Hey, your awake," he said, looking down at me. I offered a smile, and lay back down.

I tried to open my eyes again, but couldn't. I fought, but couldn't.

'I'm sorry, she's in a coma. She's fighting very hard, but you have to have realistic expectations. She may not make it. It's been three monthes. We're about ready to pull the plug," came a snooty voice.

"There's no way?" came Fang's broken voice.

"Say your goodbyes," said the same snooty voice.

"Angel you first,'' Fang's voice was hard. I had finally realized I love him, and now I leave like this?

"Max, you were always a mother to me, I love you. Wait. Can you hear me?"

Yes yes yes, baby I'm here.

"Max! I love you, just stay here, I'm gonnago get Fang!"

"Angel, what is it?" Fang asked

"I'm gonna try to wake her up,"

I heard a sigh.

"Angel..." he said with a hard tone.

I felt a tug at my consciousness and my eyes flew open.

Fang's eyes were brimmed with tears, and you could tell he had been crying.

I jumped out of the bed, crashing to him.

"I love you Fang. oh god I love you,"

I felt his face in my hair, as he murmured 'I love you, your okay,' over and over to my hair.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry,'' I said over and over again.

"It's not your fault," he answered.

''How do you see that?" I asked. I turned to the fist, I didn't fly away.

"Max, even heroes have the right to bleed,"

I broke down crying.

I hope I never do that again.

Cause even heroes have the right to dream.
