Special
I haven't read Nana from the beginning but the first issue of Shojo Beat that made me addicted to so many manga got me hooked on it. I was only thirteen at the time and it was meant for older teens. I'm surprised my mom actually let me buy it. That issue was May 2007. I don't own Nana, I wish I did but Yazawa Ai owns it.
Nana couldn't keep from smiling as she finished wrapping the box that was in front of her. Lucky for her, Ren wasn't home so she didn't have to worry about him seeing what she got him for his birthday. Sighing the rocker leaned back and looked at the gift that was laying on the table. "Hopefully he likes it."
Almost on cue, the door opened and the sound of the man stepping out of his shoes entered her thoughts. Looking back at the entryway which still had the door standing wide open, Nana raised an eyebrow.
"Nana?" Ren's voice wavered into the room before his head popped around the corner to see if she was there. A smile was plastered on his face, almost like being around the woman was enough to keep him happy. It was like Trapnest didn't exist to him because he was in the presence of the other rocker that made his world seem like it was falling apart when he had to leave.
"Haiii?" She drew out with that smile as she felt her waist embraced by his arms. Feeling her body being pulled closer and his chin falling on her shoulder, she smiled a little more.
"What's that thing sitting on the table?" Ren inquired as he eyed up the wrapped object that was just sitting there. Raising an eyebrow, he looked back at the rocker in his arms, seeing the smile that was on her lips.
"It's a present for your birthday Ren."
Letting go of the woman, he grabbed it and had that urge to shake it. With his luck it might be something breakable. Glancing over, he saw her nod and went on tearing the paper. Opening the box, he blinked and looked in.
"I hope you like it." Nana said sheepishly. Her gaze fell to her lap, but she was never this nervous over something before. It had to be because it was Ren.
"I love it!" He chimed as he pulled out a collar that was dyed red and had studs. Setting it on his lap, he dug around and grabbed a few other objects. One was a shirt that he'd been eyeing up lately, along with a pair of combat boots that were like the ones he used now. Tossing the box and setting the other stuff on the table, he tackled his girlfriend and hugged her tightly. "I love them Nana."
"I'm glad to hear it." She said with a smile as she embraced him herself. A kiss was pressed against her neck but it wasn't her sweet spot, he knew that as well as she did. "Happy birth Ren."
"Thank you." He said against her skin.
I'm not sure if I have them in character. I've been meaning to reread it or try to find out if Barnes and Nobles in the county above us, or below us has Nana on their shelves. I've been dying to get more manga, and finish my Black Bird series. Please review.
