Cal and Gillian were sitting at the circus watching the dancing clowns eating bananas. The clowns were eating bananas, not Cal and Gillian. Anyway, they were attacked by angry fireflies so they ran for the exit where they were abducted by aliens! After being "proked" on the UFO, they were returned to earth ATTHS!
