A/N: Hello, everybody! ^________^ This was a random idea I had, at a random time! KOS-MOS is one of my favorite characters, and there's not enough fics about her.... Actually, there's not many Xenosaga fics at all... -_- *siiiigh* But hopefully, more will come in the future! Err.. anyways, just read, and I hope you like it!

"Hey, chaos..."
MOMO sat in the Elsa's diner on a stool, her legs dangling beneath her. She had gone down to the Elsa's diner to get a late lunch when she had found me alone, and she decided to give me some company.
"Hmm?"
"Do you... do you think KOS-MOS has emotions? You know, like happiness, or sadness?" The tiny Realian glanced up at me hopefully.
"Well, I'm not sure... Shion told me once that she had responded to you, right?" MOMO nodded.
"Yes... but... her face is just so... blank." I smiled gently.
"Even if KOS-MOS did feel emotions, she's probably hiding them away somewhere." If that was true, he was probably right; she seemed like she would probably keep her emotions away from others.
"Oh..." MOMO looked thoughtful, "Do you think.. she's ever smiled?" I stood up and offered her my gloved hand.
"I don't know the answer for that question either... but why don't we see if she can?"

"KOS-MOS!" The pink-haired girl raced into the lab, peeking eagerly over the edge of her maintenance bed. "Are you awake?"
The android sat up, swinging her armored legs over the edge the standing up. "Yes."
I came up from behind, "Good, we didn't want to wake you up."
"I see. Is there a problem on the ship? My sensors tell me that there are no-"
"Oh, no, that's not it!" MOMO exclaimed. KOS-MOS stared at her.
I put in, "We just wanted to ask you something." The pink-haired girl nodded excitedly.
"What is the question?" MOMO tilted her head towards the side.
"Can you... smile?" The female android looked forward.
"I was not programmed-"
"I'm sure you could do it if you tried." I suggested.
"A 'smile' has no importance to me, or to the safety of others."
"Oh, please, KOS-MOS? Please?" The girl pleaded, hands clasped in front of her. "All you have to do..." MOMO lifted the corners of her mouth, "... is this!"
KOS-MOS said nothing.
"Yes... it's not hard, and I know you can do it." I supplied.
"I shall do my best." We watched on eagerly as KOS-MOS slowly tilted the corners of her pale lips into a slight smile.
"Yeah! You did it, KOS-MOS!" MOMO cheered, grabbing KOS-MOS' hand with bright eyes. "I knew you could, right, chaos?"
"Right." I glanced at the red-eyed woman with a knowing look.
"Smile more, alright KOS-MOS?" I asked her, and she nodded, "It makes you look...."
Beautiful? She always had always looked beautiful to him; but a smile on her face made her look almost ethereal, a pale vision of loveliness. I decided to speak my mind.
"... beautiful." MOMO looked at me curiously, and KOS-MOS looked right at me.
"... affirmative."

A/N: Short, but that's okay... I'm one of those people that thinks chaos x KOS-MOS is a great couple...
