"So you mean to tell me you've never had ice cream, ever?" Roman and Emery were idly talking in front of Emery's locker before the first bell rang. Roman shook his head at Emery's question. He had never gotten such a luxury as that before. Though the guards at his 'home' didn't torture him, they weren't exactly the most accommodating of hosts.

"Well, we better change that huh? Today, after school. Meet me by the soda machine, and I'll take you to Baskin Robins; the best ice cream place ever." Roman's mouth turned down a minuscule amount: wasn't it the guys' job to make the date? Shaking off his trivial thoughts, Roman replied with a smug, "It's a date." before turning and swaggering down the hall.

BBBBRRRRIIIINNNGGGGG

Finally, thought Roman, before getting out of his seat and practically running down the hall to the soda machine. This was ridiculous. Why was he so excited; and …nervous? He was just hanging out with Emery, it's not like anything was going to happen. They were just getting ice cream for goodness sakes. He finally made it to the blasted machine, only to find Emery already there, waiting for him. 'Shall we?"

Roman extending his hands and smiling at the gorgeous girl in front of him. With long mahogany hair, and depthless brown eyes, how could he not be instantly entranced? Emery grabbed his hand. "We shall."

Emery led the way as they walked to the ice cream place, their arms swinging between them. They got there and Roman held the door for her before getting them a small booth: it was all very date-ish. Emery and Roman sat down, opposite sides of the bench, their knees touching, and Emery said, "So what kind of ice cream are you going to get?"

Roman snickered at how to the point this beautiful human was, instantly relaxing into their conversation. "I'm not sure.. what is there?" Following Roman's stance, Emery let her hands slip from her lap to the tabletop, mere inches from Roman's.

"Well let's see. There is the regular cone, but that's a little cliché, no? You could get a sundae and we could share…never mind, if it's your first time I want you to have it all. There's also malts, blizzards, milkshakes…"

Instantly Romans entire posture changed. He went from relaxed to rigid, and his eyes darted around. "What did you just say, Emery? What do they have here?"

Emery looked up at Roman anxiously and replied, "I said malts, blizzards, and milkshakes...Why Roman? What's wrong?" Roman looked like he had seen a ghost, his face completely ashen.

"Emery I do not think we are in immediate danger. But whatever you do, do not get the milkshake." The tension in his hands never lessened, though he looked less like he was getting ready for a fight, which Emery took as a good sign.

"What are you talking about Roman? You're scaring me a little bit." Roman leaned in closely to Emery and spoke in a low voice,

"We cannot get the milkshakes Emery. The radio told me it would bring all the boys to the yard. I don't want all the boys in the yard. They are going to charge Emery. I haven't that much money." Emery was not in control of her face muscles after that. She went from looking like a blank computer screen, to laughing so hard tears rolled down her face.

"I don't understand." Roman said frustratedly.

Emery just laughed some more and said, "No you don't do you?"
